Better off getting the 64gb and upgrading the ssd to 1tb for $170. Will be cheaper than this and twice the ssd size.

It's better than nothing, but even at max brightness playing in direct sunlight is not great.
I might be wrong but I remember reading somewhere that the lowest storage model had something else worse about it in the specs and it was better to get the second lowest storage and upgrade? If 64gb is the lowest.
I could definitely be completely wrong though. Also if they're identical other than storage you could probably even afford a lower end 4TB with a $300 difference.
Yes, eMMC storage… which is being replaced with NVMe storage if you upgrade it.
Early on, people thought that since it used eMMC that you couldn't upgrade to a NVMe, but that turned out to be false. So if you're upgrading the SSD anyway, then the 64gb model makes the most sense.

Battery isn't all day on either device. I'd go Ally over this particular config. Go 64 for steam deck

Deck doesn't have any special support for suspend/resume, it's just the regular OS suspend. Does Windows not have that?

I would keep my eye on the Lexar one, was just over $100 recently. Apparently it's slows down fast under write and gets hot but hard to beat for the price imo.
Go the ROG ally over this IMO. I have not used the ally but the absolute best thing about the steam deck is the 64gb version. I bought a used 256gb for $40 to upgrade mine and love it. The higher price point of this version is not worth it for me. If you are considering this I would just go the ally for better performance.
