Not as good as the previous deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/777606

But still below $700.

Enjoy and have a good day. Don't let the increase of interest rates ruin your week. What's important is you are happy and healthy. That can be achieved by doing the things you love like playing games on steam deck which I still don't have.

        • Apple vision pro. Shut up and take both my kidneys.

          • @xoom: Those are some cheap kidneys. Is anything wrong with them?

Wang received $3500 for one back in 2011. Adjusting for inflation, I'd imagine one should just about cover it.

ozbargain, the home of discretionary spending

Like impulse purchases of Gundam toys - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/777663

      • At least if you get five of the them you can make a bigger robot, and then five of those bigger robots can combine to another bigger robot.

Corporate profits are driving inflation, don't blame me :)

      • I would say profits increase with discretionary spending. But like profits from groceries are going up too lol.

      • The price of a breakfast muesli I used to eat has gone from $3.50-$4 in 2019 to $7 and its 54-58% oats…

    • Yeah, esp as you neeeed the 512MB model

    • Do they include Steam Decks in the CPI basket now?

    • You shouldn't have bought beyond your means. If you didn't factor in a possible rate rise, that's your fault.

    • Just admit it…. You really need it >: )

Why buy 100 when you can buy 10, make a helmet out of it and live in it that way.

  • +4

yes! keep spending for more rate hikes

Arghhhhhhhhhh HODLing for the ROG ALLY!

    • Diamond hands baby, you can do it

  • +7

Steam Deck is still king in terms of support, easy console like experience and pricing. The other handheld brands like Ayaneo, Onexplayer, Aokzoe are more for the extra power. I currently have an Aokzoe A1 and it's a good handheld but windows is very fiddly and annoying to work with. Steam deck is good for those who are not the most tech savvy, want things to just work and ofc on a budget.

  • Rog Ally looks better?

  • +1

Why ppl worried about homes on here

      game first debt later!

    • Ask Philip Rowe the ashL

  • is this has bad battery life ?

    • +2

Entirely depends on the game you're playing and what fps and wattage you apply. Steam Deck has shown that it has very good battery life when using lower wattage and lower FPS. But you might want to be playing a graphically intense, in which case you'll have no choice but to run at higher wattage.

      Fallout 4, 60fps medium brightness. 2HRS

The thing is awesome, out of all the ozbargain crap I have bought in recent years, this is my best purchase, I can sit at work ignore everyone and just play my video games.

      • +1

More than 20 hours of death stranding from the free epic deal, one of the best handheld

  • Can this play Diablo 4?

    • +3

Yes, plenty of guides around on how to install it.

    • +1

Diablo IV runs like a dream too.

Have a good mix of medium and low settings (&high textures) and it hits 60fps in the open world without much troubles unless within towns where it drops between 45-55fps.

Also suggest that when you do install Diablo, to include the HD texture pack, there is a notable visual difference before and after having installed this, including better frametimes/less jitters for whatever reason.

  • +2

    It's back in stock

    • Thanks got one!

  • Just purchased one. Looking to play Diablo 4 on it during an overseas trip next month

  • Seem still have stock

  • Thanks OP. Got it for $636.69 after stacking multiple Shopback promos/cashbacks if my calculations are correct.

  • +1

    I bought on an implulse. I thought I would regret. I don't.

  • This is better than those Chinese knockoffs that cost thousands

  • Have they increased the base price? It comes to $729.96 with the 20% off (without eBay Plus).

    • Yeah, price has gone up from $890 something.

      • Damn, should have pulled the trigger earlier! But it's still a pretty decent price - just disappointed knowing that it has been lower.

  • +3

Bought mine about 9 months ago from an international scalper for almost twice this price. No regrets. Best piece of tech I've purchased in years. Use it every day, despite also having a very powerful PC.

  • +5

base price went up to $912.45; dayum that inflation works fast

  • Is the 64GB expandable? Or are you stuck with a 1 game device hahah

    • +2

Yes. You can replace the internal 64GB SSD and you can just expand with a MicroSD card.

  • Has anyone gotten theirs yet? mine still has not been posted

    • +1

Same here. Marked as "dispatched" on Thurs but Auspost haven't received the item yet.

Edit: Apparently it's out for delivery now, the tracking just never updated.

      • -1

Mine is still awaiting postage, Have sent a message to the seller.
Hope they just forgot to update tracking details

        • It's only been 2 business days. Relax.

          • @The Value: Nice Neg Bro, Item still not shipped.

Fast Dispatch (Same business day dispatch for order placed and payment approved before 4pm)
Express Delivery (via Australia Post Express / Startrack Over Night)

So its been 4 business days, with no update to the status of my order.
Order placed 11am on the 8th of June.

Clearly they have oversold stock if others are receiving theirs already.
