Looks like you should be able to get a free bottle of wine as well. (From the cashreward site)

Bonus wine when you spend $100 online
Bonus The Good Grape Cabernet when you spend $100 Online.

T&C apply. See First Choice Liquor website for details.

    Coupon: BONUS
    Expires: May 28, 2023, 11:59:00 PM

The value of the bonus wine also counts towards free shipping. Ordered some gin that came to $142, the value of $13 for the wine tipped us over the $150 free shipping, even though we were charged up front $142 as the wine was then discounted/free. Was going to do click and collect but with that pushing us over I’ve just gone for shipped.

Might help if people are on the brink of free shipping.

    • No longer in stock in VIC :(

      • @zerk03: Nope.

That stupid "Removed product «product» in «state» as it is no longer in stock." message is completely bogus. It's a known, years-long bug in First Choice Liquor's system.

It should read "Removed product «product» from your Click & Collect order from «store» as it is no longer in stock there."

In other words, it's just that the store you have set as "Your Store" has zero stock on hand for the the product. It's not a statewide issue. Either change to delivery or Click & Collect from another store with stock and you should be fine.

was hoping for a good cashback on Liquorland (to pair with the 3000 flybuys points deal), and didn't use the 15% off earlier in the week, thinking one or the other (Shopback or Cashrewards) would have something better, like 20%….oh, well, live and learn. Very hard to get good FB and % deals running together now.

What's the dollar value to spend if you want to maximize cashback on this one? Does it track GST as part of the purchase price?

    • $130.44

      • +1

Wouldn’t it be $143.88 as it tracks excluding GST

So $143.88 less GST is the $130.44 and then 23% of that for the $30.

        • Good point, never noticed it didnt include GST specifically

        • @31mop: No, no, no… no! 😉

          The simplified formula is:

          Sweet Spot = Cap × 1.1 ÷ Cashback %

          So in this case it's:
          $30 × 1.1 ÷ .23 ≈ $143.48

          Thus the ex-GST value is:
          $143.48 ÷ 1.1 = $130.44 (Correct 😉)

          23% of that is:
          $130.44 × 0.23 ≈ $30 (Also correct 😉)

(In case any really stupid neggers are wondering, yes I realise it's a typo 😝)

  • If you wanna have free delivery, buying over $137 w code bonus. I paid $144 w code, tracked $130.92 then pending $30 as full cashback amount.

  • Sometime no, sometimes yes.

The sparkling I usually buy from FC for $8 is $9.50 today. Liquorland have it at 2 for $15 too.

    So, no deal for me.

  • Got a 10% off code for my Bday, can I stack it?

    • Happy birthday

    • Is the code listed on Cashrewards?

  • thx now need some good bargain shiraz or cabaret

Taylors Jaraman is a good price at the moment at $25 or if you want cheaper the Estate range is at $15. Good full bodied reds from an Australian family owned vineyard in SA. Not tied to any of the conglomerates like TWE.

  • @soggypotato
I just purchased $154 worth of products but Cashback only "detected" $41.91 purchase. Got CB confirmation email that cashback amount is $9.64 and should be $30.
This is the first time I've had an issue with Cashback.

    • +1

@vrsac: This a known issue that sometimes happens when you purchase more than one SKU on the same order. Just give it a few hours and you’ll find the transaction will auto-adjust to the correct amount. (See this comment by the rep TA.)

      • you're right - I was just refreshing CB "My Rewards" page and CB amount went up to $34 then, I refreshed again and dropped down to $30 which is what I expected.

      • Thanks. Good to know, however, it doesn't explain why they would send an email confirmation with a wrong amount of only $9.64.

        • +1

@vrsac: Actually, it does. The bug caused some of the items in your order to be missed, so only $41.91 was "detected". The confirmation email is automatically sent with the cashback calculated on the "detected" amount, and 23% of $41.91 is $9.64.

Seems like Cashrewards haven't been able to find the bug (or there's some other explanation as to why it hasn't been fixed, like maybe it's actually on First Choice Liquor's end) so they've implemented some sort of check which picks up on this issue and either fixes it automatically or flags the transaction to be fixed manually.

        • @vrsac: Should've checked my "tracked" email before replying - got hit by this very bug. First time ever!

Turns out it's weirder than I thought. The ex-GST transaction amount in the email was $10.87 and the cashback amount was $2.50 (which is the correct 23%). The transaction amount equates to $11.96, GST inc, which is less than the cheapest item in my order, as seen below!

Qty GST inc ex-GST 23%/$30 Cashback
          2 $14.00 ~$12.73 ~$2.93
          2 $60.00 ~$54.55 ~$12.55
          1 1$13.00 ~$11.82 ~$2.72
          Total $148.00 ~$134.55 $30.00

          1. The $13 item is the "free" BONUS wine

          • @robinCTS: really weird. The total cost is less than it should be for $30 cashback.

            • @vrsac: I'm confused:

              $30×1.1÷0.23 ≈ $143.48 (min spend to hit $30 cap)
              or
              $148×0.23÷1.1 ≈ $30.95 (full cashback at 23%)

  • Sweet! Maker's 46 and Diplomatico Exclusiva, plus the free bottle of plonk for $132 net.

  • Stocked up on some reds for me and whites for Mrs, $30 CB tracked straight away. Then picked up some La Vuelta Cava when we were picking up, will be interested to see how that stacks up against the Proseccos in the lower end of the price range

Thanks OP, bonus got me over $150 for free shipping too!

  • Starward Two Fold for $62 plus cb was a good buy

  • just ordered and got a bottle of wine using 'bonus'

  • Did anyone else try to find something for $130.43 first then work backwards?

    • @Littlevu: Actually, a true OzBargainer would know that cashback rounds "normally" and would target $130.22 😉

      • I have $143.02 in CR. Would’ve been from December shopping. Thanks for reminding me to check if it was withdrawable (I did not know they take $0.20)

        • @Littlevu: What?! Are you saying there's a withdrawal fee? Since when?

          • @robinCTS: I’m going off your numbers lol

            • +1

              @Littlevu: (-‸ლ) Ha, ha.

EDIT: Actually, the rounding is your favour, not theirs. So they don't really make 20¢ but actually lose it 😉

  • Did anyone order click and collect and use the BONUS code to get the free wine?

Got a text message that the Good Grape Cab Sav was only for delivery orders and has been removed from my order. Cant see the T&C on the website anymore either.

    • @BargainLtd: 🤔 IIRC the banner said "online orders". Didn't read the Terms & Conditions so don't know if they said otherwise. Luckily I placed my order for delivery.

(Was almost going to post it as a deal, but decided otherwise. This is another reason to do so, since I always post the Terms & Conditions in the deal and thus we would have had a record.)

    • That sucks, email pic says online, email terms too say not Click collect

Bonus bottle of The Good Grape Coonawara Cabernet Sauvignon 750mL offer is available from 26/05/2023 until 11.59 PM AEST 28/05/2023 unless withdrawn earlier. Offer applies on orders of $100 or more after savings and discounts during the dates specified, using Standard, Same Day or Next Business Day Delivery and upon entering promo code BONUS at checkout. Retail limits may apply. Not Available for express delivery. Not Available for Click & Collect.

      • @grasstown: Thanks for posting the email Terms & Conditions. I haven't received any promotional emails from First Choice Liquor since the end of September last year, so couldn't check them.

(Maybe I don't get them because I always order as a guest, and haven't logged in to my account for ages. Just tried logging in and found there's no setting for promotional emails. Hopefully just the act of logging in will kick start them. Otherwise I'll have to log in when I do my next order and see if that works. Alternatively I could just ring Customer Support.)
