Thought I got a good deal getting it from Tokyu Hands for ~$35; local price is ~$80.

This is based on the popular V60 with the difference being the switch. This mechanism blocks the flow of water for some immersion during the blooming.

    I am getting $78.02

    • Something funny going on with the Amazon JP prices. When I saw your message, I was still able to add it to cart for the 26 :(

  • Awesome price. I got a lot of enjoyment out of my v60 before moving to espresso, so this is a great buy to get the best of both percolation and immersion brewing.

  • Missed it

EDIT: Refreshed and came back into stock then gone again

  • Dang I'm getting around $80, Ive been thinking of getting a dripper for a while but haven't invested the energy in the rabbit hole

  • Is this all i need to try filter coffee?

currenlty doing espressos but would like to try filter coffee out so I don't break my fasting.

    • Yep - grab this or a v60 and away you go. Comes with filter papers to get you going.

I do a lot of espresso at home but also enjoy the occasional pour over. Both forms of brew should be enjoyed. No need to stop one if you do the other.

Thanks OP - came into stock again and I grabbed one. Have a V60 but not the switch… until now!

Yep, that's all you need other than the obvious hot water, ground coffee and a mug :)

Then you can spend thousands to get it to taste 1% better…

      • don't i need a glass jug to drip it into when making larger qty and also a goose neck kettle and filter paper? just watching hoffman talking about the switch

        can't wait to try this

        • +1

Most of the time I'm just making for myself so it goes directly into the cup.

I have a Stagg EKG, but any kettle will do fine, just pour as slowly as you can. Hario has stove top kettles but the price doesn't seem to be particularly good; wouldn't bother trying to import their electric kettles though.

The package should come with 100 paper filters.

got one at 26$ awesome! thanks

  • Wow this is a really good price, unfortunately I'm too late.

  • I'm getting $26.19 as the price

  • Where does everyone get their filter papers from?

    • There's been quite a few filter deals coming and going. Here's a pack of 40 for $2.95.

I got one of these earlier today for $31, hoping it's not a price error!

      • I did see that 40 pack. I ended up getting a metal dripper as well but it's not the right thing. I'll probably end up in the doghouse after buying even more coffee things. Already bought a few earlier this week. I'll wait a little before buying more paper filters.

      • Would you be able to send that link to me? Can't seem to see it in your comment

        • +1

Do you mean the filter papers? I think it's this but Amazon is being super wierd with these links from Amazon JP. I don't know if you can actually buy it but it does say from $2.95, sometimes.

Daiso stores also sells the pointy cone shaped (i.e. not tapered Melita) filters that are V60 compatible.

      • Hmm, I used to get my coffee filter papers from Daiso but only ever saw the tapered ones. Haven't looked for coffee filters at Daiso for many years so I guess I'll have to take another look.

        • Yeah its a recent(ish) addition. They used to only have the tapered and then about a few months ago I noticed they have the V60 style as well now.

    • I grabbed mine from Inglewood whenever the last time they had a sale on brew accessories was. Even without the sales though, their prices on filters seems to better than Amazon by a fair margin (before shipping ofc)

      • Will just have to keep an eye on prices for a while to get a feel for the going rate.

  • bought size 2 and size 3
can't wait to give this a go
    what filter paper will suit?

  • Think I got the last one! Thanks OP :)

EDIT: Definitely something weird going on with Amazon JP. Showed on my desktop, then disappeared, but still shows up on the iOS app.

  • Not exactly related to this deal, but if you're thinking of checking out Amazon.co.jp via the Android app, it seems they've removed the option to switch back to the AU store. I had to reset the app cache and memory to get to the AU store again.

  • thanks OP, ordered to give a go.

The number 3 size is still in stock for ~$37. You might need to expand the other sellers menu

Just ordered one of these but it took a few tries on clicking other sellers for that Japan option to come up.
