When the sensor is away, the water is stopped.   Problem with IR sensors is that sunlight in your sunny bathroom either triggers false positives or overpowers the sensor stopping you from using it.

  This gadget is pointless.

  The whole point of a mixer tap is that you use the controls to adjust the hot and cold water flow. This involves touching the laps. So, unless you will only want the same mix all the time you’ll still need to touch the taps.

    By the look of it you use it for things like washing vegetables where you, traditionally, use cold water.
