Was browsing Umart and came across this pretty good deal for a 6650 XT

It costs more to ship to me than a mid-tower case somehow.
As predicted,
the release of the RX 7600 8GB later this month will start a wave of price drops on the 66xx and 67xx series cards
With the RX 6700 non XT back up to $439, this is the best value new 1080p GPU
Need 6700 at this price.
I got one second hand on eBay for that price. Does that help?
Need 6700 new at this price.
Real world performance somewhere between the 3060 and 3060ti. Very good value! Great find OP!
nice deal, I am very tempted to get this, but what other specials are coming this way with 7 series release in 3 weeks
I can't imagine they'll go up in price. If you don't need a gpu today, waiting the 3 weeks to see what availability we get on the more midrange 7000 cards wouldn't be terrible.
That's a great price for a low powered card
7600XT is supposed to be around 10% faster
that's funny because I bought a used 6700XT for just a bit more than this 6650XT
Why is that funny, can you elaborate, my jokemeter did not register
That's used though. This is new
yeah true there's a bit of mileage on the odometer - silicon might need be rebuilt.
Sounds like you've just debunked entropy. Notably heat degrades electronics.
Think of electrons like water. When a river runs over a long period of time you end up with the Grand Canyon.
@Jimmy77: my 2011 core duo macbook pro works fine - albeit at aa 2011 level fine.
@BargainHunterJohnnyB: My EBII with 400 000k's works fine too :S
6650 is 8 lanes PCIe. if you have a PCIe 3 motherboard, skip this and get something 16 lane. like 6700
Pcie3 does about 1GB/s per lane, so 8gb/s for x8. So won't bottleneck much. About a 5% difference says benchmarks.
I think you may mean the 6500 which only has x4, so does bottleneck hard on Pcie3.
Oh RX 6500, thou art a tragic tale,
Of a GPU that just cannot prevail.
For in the world of computing, it's survival of the fittest,
And in that battle, thou art simply the weakest.Hardware Unboxed found a few titles that suffered with PCIe Gen 3 x8. I think it was when the VRAM was full and had to swap textures out, the bandwidth might have been an issue
I think most other cases it was a 3-5% loss in FPS
would this be any good with a gsync monitor? just looking for something cheap to replace my 1070 that i sold during the peak.
or would a 3060 be better?
3060 12GB if its close in price but this will work fine with any monitor.. i never use gsync or freesync.. never can tell if they do anything.
I'm using a Radion RX6800 16Gb with a Dell 1440P 165Hz G-Sync monitor and its perfect :).. that monitor also has freesync so i guess its defaulted to that tech.
I dunno, I can't find the 8Gb for around this
if you are talking about a "G-Sync compatible" monitor, then not a problem at all.
If it's one of those old one with an actual G-Sync chip in it, then you won't be able to use G-Sync feature with AMD card at all.
oos now, that was quick
3 fans for a 6650XT? what's the point.
Why do people complain about better cooling? I dont get it. Even on lower TDP cards 2 fan variants can be noisy. For example the sapphire pulse cards. 3 fans = less noise and heat. If you REALLY need a smaller card there are plenty of options
And yet I had a 3 fan 6600 that was louder than a 2 fan one
But the guy is right, it is overkill
That has to do with bad engineering and not the amount of fans
@AusDaniel: Simply refuting your point that more fans is always better
@Lonewolf1983: My bad, forgot Lonewolf1983s world doesnt obey physics
@AusDaniel: Three small fans would be louder than 2 big ones.
@DukeNinja: Depends on RPM, design, bearings. By this logic a 240mm radiator is better than a 360mm radiator
No one would complain better cooling, if the prices are the same. Personally, I would prefer to allocate the additional funds towards a superior GPU instead of investing in excessive cooling. I believe that having two fans doesn't necessarily mean increased noise levels and heat.
Just by the laws of physics, larger heatsink = more heat dissipation = less rpm/noise, all other things equal.
As for the additional funds, this is the cheapest 6650XT. What additional funds?
My gigabyte 6600XT has 3 fans, will routinely hit 2.7ghz boost clock where as the actual product website states "Boost Clock* : up to 2589 MHz". It's great.
quieter operation. plus, 6650 is the chip pushed high on clocks, so definitely benefits from good cooling
$51 delivery!
Weight error on our system, sorry. Currently set to 22Kg which is very much wrong. Unfortunately, I don't have the permissions to fix this.
@UmartBuddy - could you please check and update weight to correct weight?
Thanks for the response.
I'm disappointed at the reports that the 7600XT is expected to be 8GB, 7 years ago the RX480-8GB was US$240.
RX-7600 & RTX-4060 should be mid-range 12GB.
7 years is an insane amount of time to still have the 8GB on mid-range GPU's.
Laughs in RTX3070
(and I paid around $1400 for mine during peak of the Crypto Boom)
If amd made it 12GB you might not need to upgrade in 2 years.
This is insurance from nvidia/amd. The ultimate form of greed. They have too much power due to stupid/weak willed gamers. If this was the 90's they would've never dared try such a thing, the product would've been laughed at, boycotted, and bankrupted them. It's not just prices gamers have driven up, they've lost their bartering power in terms of vram too, nvidia/amd knows gamers will still be desperate enough. Especially when they both do it and AMD doesn't release it as 12gb lol
It's too easy for these companies. Nowadays your customers are working millenials/zoomers with a mentality that goes like "$1500 was reasonable for an RTX 3050 but if the RTX 4050 is $2000 I'm gonna boycott". And nvidia knows they will cave 2 days later anyway. Usually they'll be snarky and remark "I understand how you don't have 5k to burn without it affecting you", but it's a pretty funny projection. Many teenagers and people on the dole have the 4080/90.
Deal / stock is only for east coast?
Just a note 16gb will be the 8gb soon for gaming short to medium term.
There may be another sharp price drop on 8gb cards in a month as both AMD and Nvidia flush their older card stocks.A noob question, i currently have i5 10400F + 2060 Super.
Is it worth to replace the current 2060S with this one? Will I notice any difference in the real world?
Also, should i pay extra $70 to get RX 6700 for $439 instead?
TIAI would get 6700 for extra VRAM and cooler performance
Nah 2060s is much better than 2060 non super.
If it were me I would hodl. I wouldn't bother going for less than 3070/6800. 2060s is a GTX 1080 with dlss, 6650xt is a 1080ti without dlss. Very bad upgrade imo needs to be a far bigger leap.
What's the difference between this and the 6600?
Quite a bit! Id say 15-20%
FWIW these are ~1% faster than a 6600xt, which sold for ~$350-$400 this time last year. Strange market.
Strange customers. Nothing strange about ripping people off, but usually people get outraged and walk off. People just keep buying the gpu's though. All these "deals" are either last years prices or slightly more expensive. Constantly upvoted too. They're going out of stock not staying on the shelves. Even the 4090 was hard to get.
They're still selling the old gen because of this too.
Rip rip wood chip on that postage though la
