  • Does anyone know if they've resolved the issue with receiving points? Any new sign ups getting points quickly or is it still taking months to receive the points?

    • +1

It looks like it is all fixed now. I signed up and got the card last month, and I then spent more than $3,000. Got my statement and the bonus points in my QFF account today.

      • Thanks for letting me know

        • +1

Yes i had the same positive experi3nce as above. Ive commented on my recent experience in this thread before too.

  • Got the points easy, but how to close account.
I've put in online request, called them 4 times, sent messages, they tell me it be closed soon. Been 2 months. Any suggestions?

    • I did it on the phone, same time I requested pro rata AF refund - stated reason for closing was disappointing platform and customer service from Suncorp, particularly re non-compliance with T&Cs of awarding bonus points.

      • Did you end up getting a pro rata AF refund?

        • Yes

    • I got my first statement. No bonus points. When did you get yours?

Suncorp seems to be rejecting applications lately. Just applied for 6k credit and got rejected. Same as my brother. Both of us in the medical field with reasonable income. Probably 3rd churn in 12 months (not a crazy number) and the first one that has been rejected.

Suncorp (backed by citi/now nab) - I have had this happen in the past when I churned a lot.

I have been somewhat successful in appealing the decision - sometimes it is because my previous closed churning card still showed up on my credit report and I had to write an email to appeal and attach letter of closure.

      • Must be very hit and miss as the few instances where I did message/call about a review they (not just citi) simply stonewalled about not being able to disclose the reason for the rejection or that if you think the credit report is out of date please get it corrected yourself and try again in a couple of months.

        • There is a specific email you can lodge your application too. Its their applications review team or something along those lines.

I would ask email from citi for this rather than dealing with someone on the phone.

          • @eastmeetswests: I have emailed Citi before to review a declined credit application on similar grounds. Credit report was showing closed cards as outstanding lines of credit. They never responded.

I followed guidance from Citi re how to lodge this, just as additional documents to the application rather than an applications review team. I didn’t push it any further as I didn’t want to hurt my credit score any more.

            • @ts13: That's strange, ive known people who emailed the appeal email and they will respond even if it's rejected a second time.

It wouldnt be a second credit check for the reapplication.

  • Started using card on 21 August and just got my first statement with bonus points so good experience for me. Though wish it was as good value as the CBA card 70k points I just finished previously that ended up only costing $30 in fees.

  • Was anyone able to get a partial refund on the card fee when they closed their account?

    • Nope got declined as well like one of the earlier comments. Seems like they reckon they've fixed things enough to no longer need to lol.

    • Yes! I got a pro rata refund just approved. I asked via secure message.

      • Credit to your balance / another account or cheque in the mail?

  • +1

It's been credited to my balance.

I didnt have any issues with points hitting my account.

  • Does anyone know if gov spend did contribute to their min spend?
I've heard that using auspost billpay online sometimes works, not sure about suncorp though

    • auspost billpay online

Dunno about suncorp either because it recently stopped counting for me with westpac and ANZ when it used to be just fine so didn't want to risk it for bigger bills. But to guarantee gov spend counting you just gotta use zip or sniip at this point.

      • Thanks, I know sniip charge CC fees but do you know what the added fees are for zip?

        • No fees for zip, the only issue is your current account limit. If you try to repay the balance early multiple times to get around it they're very trigger happy about temporarily locking your account which takes a fews days to unlock again.

          • @vawiyoci: Thanks, unfortunately only got approved for $350 for whatever reason so only able to do some bills

Hit spending - got points - smooth transaction.

  • Does anyone know if there's an exclusion period? Can't find any mention.

Got the points credited at Qantas the day of first starement after reqd spend. I guess they listened afterall. Now to close it…

Finally got my points after it was rejected on my first statement in August. I had to file a complaint with AFCA (used Citi group as the financial institution name) but received the points within 2wks after filing my compliant.

  • Is there any way to close the account online (without having to call)?

    • +2

Yes you can, that’s how I did mine

To request your credit card account to be closed through Internet Banking, simply log in, Go to Credit Card Services>Card Services>Account Closure Request and follow the prompts.
