[PC, XB1, XSX] Dolby Access/Atmos for Headphones €1.73 (Payment Fee Included, ~A$2.80) @ MMS Eneba (Argentina VPN Required)

90

Thanks RahRahRand for the previous post.

I checked this today and its in stock again. With current conversion you should be getting in the ballpark of $2.80-2.90. This means its even cheaper than before!

Please note VPN REQUIRED TO ACTIVATE

Copied instructions from previous deal:

Buy the key from the Linked Deal, Copy your code…

NOTE - you need to set your VPN to Argentina for this one (Not some random Latin American country as I initially tried before I realised my mistake - I tried Brazil for the record)

Clear you Browser Cache, then Connect to Argentina via VPN - (Some people recommend using the free Windscribe Chrome extension(chrome.google.com) but I used NordVPN)

Once connected, navigate to https://redeem.microsoft.com/?wa=wsignin1.0.com and sign in with your normal Microsoft account (or make one first if you are new like I was).

With the VPN on - Enter the code as normal, redeem and turn off the VPN (thanks to @emrik) AND Clear your Browser Cache.

Just install the Dolby Access App in Windows and it should be all sorted!

Here's the specific seller at that price, rather than just the overall listing for the item

PS, what does this app do anyway? Always been intrigued.

    • Virtual surround sound via headphones, only instead of being virtual 5.1 or whatever, the sounds can come from anywhere in 3D space.

Anyone know if this is per user account, or per PC?

      • I had some old little earphones with either the Xperia Play or Xperia U, some Sony phone from the time, that had 3D audio, with the right music it definitely sounded cool. Does this use like AI or something to artificially make things appear 3D or moreso, allow access to things that are recorded in such a way?

        • It’s just enabling the Dolby Atmos codec. There’s also the DTS:X available for purchase. Many home theatre devices would include the codec licensing in the devices cost but MS has people pay the license separately.

People seem sort of split over which codec is better. Number of people seem to lean towards Atmos for film and DTS:X for gaming from commentary I’ve seen.

Believe the codecs when purchased work across both Windows and Xbox.

Not much. My guess is that it pays the license fee for Dolby Atmos for Headphones, which enables that support.
I definitely prefer it over the basic sound support.

I love when the item I bought requires an additional fee to be used to it's fullest potential!

  • Thanks, perfect for the Audeze Maxwell (PS5 version but using it on PC)
Worked fine with Arg VPN in a private Chrome Window

FWIW, I have Amazon Music unlimited and there are some albums in the library that has Dolby Atmos or 360. Using my WH-XM3 with iPad, I prefer to listen in Ultra HD (FLAC lossless) rather than Atmos. It just sounds weird for music.

Having said that, I'm pretty sure for games and movies it will be much better in Atmos.

  • I think the game needs to be built with Atmos in mind to get the most benifit

  • Check out HeSuVi. Can get a virtually equivalent solution for absolute free, open source app.

And so you don't called an idiot when you post online about how it doesn't work, let me leave two pieces of golden advice:
    1. Make sure you follow the installation instructions to a T.
    2. Understand that your source material must be 5.1 or 7.1 to begin with. No amount of surround sound apps + hardware is going to sound like 3d audio if your source audio is mono.

P.S. The new Creed III is absolute amazeballs with virtual surround sound.

  • How does this work? if I have qc45's, would it work with them? does it work over bluetooth?
