  • Just a heads up, combank security is pretty atrocious. Had 2 huge overseas transactions go through that weren't flagged. Then that money was deducted off my card limit so I wasn't able to have the full credit until the transaction was cleared (took one month).

ANZ and and Teachers Credit Union called me straight away when there was a suspicious transaction.

In contrast, while in the US, Commbank emailed me and took a reverse-charges international call to correct fraudulent activity on my credit-card. Was all resolved within 6 hours, and I never lost access to my cards or funds.

It's invalid to judge companies based on individual cases or events.

The Commonwealth Bank contacted me last year with a Skype payment from Luxemburg for about $7.00 on the day of the transaction, which I had no knowledge of. Promptly cancelled my card and I recieved a replacement card 3 days later.

  • So with this 0% rate does this mean there are no minimum repayments for 12 months? Trying to figure out how it works

As a comparison, ANZ Low Rate's offer is a better deal.

      No it's not!!

CBA offers 0% Pa Interest for 12 Months, but ANZ doesn't

      • Actually you're right. I was only comparing the cashback amount, which CBA's offer is lower as it requires annual fee.

  • Not sure if i am missing something, but why it says:

Up to 55 days interest free on purchases

    • That would be an ongoing feature of the card.

It is a feature of many cards. To maximise this feature you should purchase something on the first day of your statement period.

      • I meant why its not mentioning 12 months instead?

  • I'd wait for the Low Rate Gold offer to return.. $300 cashback from $1500 spend and no annual fee

    • Yeah but that card is not 12 months interest free

      • Not really important to people like me, but depends on your needs/finances. The free international travel insurance on the Gold card is a HUGE benefit and one I've used 3 times so far this year

There's no need to wait for it to "return", the offer has been extended until 1 Jun 2023

Nice, no brainer then for people that don't see value in 12 months interest free and would prefer free travel insurance, free annual fee and $300 cashback

  • What consider as purchases? Is paying ATO consider as one?
