  • Good deal.

  • This or the Swift X deal that’s around the same price here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/766074 ?

    • This if you want upgradeable ram
      That if you want dGpu

    • The Acer Swift for the GTX 1650 graphics card. It's also thinner and lighter, with faster RAM and better battery life. Wins all around I'd say.

I have the 5625U version of this that cost me about the same last year. Great laptop overall but the battery leaves a lot to be desired. It usually lasts between 3-4 hours. Also, the battery will go down from 20% to 0% in a span of a few minutes. I have reported this to Lenovo a few times but their tests still state that the battery performance is within the specification and is not faulty. 🤷🏻

    • Does it support dual monitor?

      • +1

Yes it does. I use two monitors

    • Does your laptop sometimes have the issue of all keys getting unresponsive when waking up the laptop. My L version of laptop sometimes get this issue and I am trying to find this solution. I mean the issue doesn't happen every single time but happened at least 4 to 5 times in the last 4 weeks and it's quite annoying. Thanks

Hey mate. I have not experienced it yet.

  • 5625U version for $949

Does it have a dedicated graphics card?

      Acer Swift X has NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 35W w/4GB GDDR6 memory

  • I recently bought a Lenovo L version of Laptop. However it has developed an issue: all keys on keyboard are unresponsive when waking up the laptop. I am wondering if anyone faces the same issue and know the solution. I will need to contact support if I cannot find anything. All drivers up to date. The issue occurred around 5 to 6 times in the last 4 weeks. When this issue occurred, I have to reboot the laptop then all keys are working again.

I've had this issue on a Dell laptop, but only on the keyboard plugged in. It appears to be a driver issue as upgrading to Windows 11 fixed it.

If you are willing to try, reinstall windows and don't install any of the proprietary Lenovo software or drivers (except maybe graphics and battery)

      • Thanks. My Lenovo laptop is on Windows 11 but still have the same issue. I have limited software on my laptop as it's still new. I will give a try by reinstalling windows which I assume is the same as factory reset. Is that right?

Secondly, I can only see there is a preinstalled Lenovo software after launching which display all system information; checking update etc. I sometimes use this to check all the update and let it install. I am sure that Dell has the similar pre installed software as well. Do I need to uninstall it? If I uninstall it, will windows update include all necessary update for my laptop as I saw the updates sometimes include Lenovo Bios etc or it actually never needs such Lenovo tool software eg let Windows update do the job.

Factory reset would take a Windows image stored in a hidden partition on your laptop, which includes Lenovo drivers already installed.

My advice was to install a clean copy of Windows by creating your own install USB, taken from the Microsoft website.

          https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-installat…

I didnt consider this before, this will destroy the hidden partition and you will no longer be able to 'factory reset' to lenovo software. So I would only do this as a last resort. You could create an external image of your SSD using Macrium reflect if you wanted to try this option. All the software will be available for download on the Lenovo website if you wanted to reinstall those tools manually.

What you could try first is to go into windows device manager and uninstall all lenovo related drivers. Before you do this, create a windows restore point, so you can easily undo the uninstall

          • @greatlamp: I am wondering if there is other solutions for the issue. In addition, I accessed the device manager and right click properties of keyboard. I don't believe that I can see if the driver from Lenovo.

  • hmmmm this or an MS Surface pro 4 256gb R4680U 16g …. vs thinkpad 512gb R 5825U 16g.. better screen + touch on surface pro 4…

  • I also found E14 vs L14 very confusing. They are pretty much the same. L14 generally costs a bit of more.

    • L14 RAM isn't soldered, no sure what else is different

      • From my research, L version should be a bit of higher end than E version Laptop.

  • E series has crappy quality that doesn't deserve the brand of ThinkPad. I have E580 with Radeon video card. The speed is quite okay but obviously the unstable hardware causes bluescreen in Windows from time-to-time.

  • I just bought the E14 Gen4 Intel i5-1235U version, $967 after 12% CashRewards.

    • Why not go for the AMD version which give you a bit of more battery?

      • Been using Intel forever so sticking with what i know. Laptop is used for web browsing and office apps so no requirement for anything major performance wise.
