I want to like this one, I really do, but what is it? A dress style watch but with chrono, so a sports dress watch? I get mixed signals when I look at it

Nice watch, also the green dial aviator is back on sale - $175 delivered.

How did I go for my first watch post? Yeah I saw that the green dial aviator is back on $175. I didn't include it as that deal it's still active. I got mine with black dial. Any suggestions how I can make the band smaller? I don't think I have the right tools or knowledge to do it myself.

Looks fine. I managed to do it with a cheapo watch tool like this & a good pair of long nose pliers. Watch some youtube videos, it's pretty easy.

get one of those link remover tools that clamp onto the bracelet as well. they're about $15.

once you start accumulating more watches (no judgement here!), consider getting a bergeron tool. i've got a couple of those cheap spring bar remover tools and while they're good for infrequent use, i find they can bend quite easily despite me being very careful.

    • Yeah still prefer the look of that Aviator for less.

Slightly busier than this dress watch, but the design is on point. At least the appeal is strong for me. I think the dial size ratio is just perfect.
Good thing the black is not on sale for less ($150 ish), because I would seriously be tempted to grab it.

Sometimes there's still some deals to be found that aren't in the weekend sale like the $199 Citizen auto's here.

        • They should have called this Citizen Promaster the Prochungus! 😂

          • @harshbdmmaster718: lol i actually like that one…it's so nerdy and it doesn't care!

            • @tdw: Yeah I don't know. Need a big wrist to pull it off no? I have a standard wrist but I think it would look too comical on me. Similarly to when I wear a watch with case that's too small.

              • @harshbdmmaster718: looks to have very short lugs so might work for my 6.5" wrist. either way it's not going to hide on anyone's wrist haha

                • @tdw:

either way it's not going to hide on anyone's wrist haha

Yeah I can think of another downside. It's going to be too bumpy. (more surface area on the thickness of your wrist for things to catch onto)

Could be more annoying than just a thicker case.

                  • @harshbdmmaster718: can't be worse than my chunky g-shocks with the prominent crenulated bezel (e.g. gba800). if i backhanded someone, it'd leave a mark(!)

                    • @tdw: Yeah that does look chunky (GBA800 spec also says 15.5mm thick). Still with all that resin cushioning and suspended module inside it can take it!
I actually had my G-shock catch onto something for the first time the other day. Was swinging my arms more than usual and down the skinny hallway it caught onto the indoor clothes hanger and pulled it for a second. No worries though with G-shock lol.

My GBD200 is 15mm thick, and I do wish it was slightly thinner. https://i00.eu/img/606/1200x630/bqthfzws/113196.jpg
Even though it doesn't look too chunky in photos it's the main thing I realized when putting it on the first time. If I force myself to look "down my wrist" I can see how high it gets off my wrist. I usually don't look at it from that angle though so don't notice it most of the time.

Honestly I think for me 15mm is the limit, and I think even G-shock square fans will find the 13.5mm height a bit bulky.

The Citizen Aviator in the last deal is a nice 11mm which sounds awesome to me. https://starbuy.com.au/citizen-eco-drive-mens-watch-bm7550-8…

    • You are welcome. I was tempted to buy one myself. But I need to stick to budget.
