Initially (couple of years ago now) it used to work with any payment methods.

Using Afterpay (as part payment) has always been required, and you've never been able to pay solely with any other payment method.

Just bought some Asics from Rebel Sport's "AfterPay Day Sale" with a normal debit card online click and collect no issue.
I thought it was an awareness campaign, like "this discount is brought to by afterpay" kind of thing, i thought those guys were awesome for the discounts lol!
As I recall, it can be 100% by gift card, but you have to select Afterpay for the payment method.

Have been using it since launch. I don't know what more what you could expect from this generation from a pro model tbh. It has blazing fast load times thanks to the pcie4 ssd drive and really good graphics that I can happily play on a 4k 85" tv without skipping a beat. It would be good to have a 2TB sized internal ssd to begin with but thats pretty much my only wish =)
If you'll buy the TV or monitor to display what the PS5 pro will have to offer, then wait for the pro. If you won't buy the latest and gratest TV I'd go with the current one.
Glory days are well and truely over for this console . Even with a larger discount it will struggle to sell as all the desperados have got it a long time ago for 4 figures + .

Don't remember Afterpay doing a credit check in the early days. (Back when it started, Afterpay was under $1000 items, ZipPay was over that, which required credit check.)
It was $1000 initially, after some purchases, and no delays of repayment.
Its $2000 now, with option to go higher in some stores (think it was $3000)

I got around it by purchasing an ebay gift card for 200 dollars and paying the rest through afterpay - lowering the afterpay amount to 569.
You can buy the ebay gift card through woolworths online which worked fine for me . The whole process took me about 20 mins

Finally caved in, anyone know the rough trade in price for a ps4 pro at EB? Do they have trade bonuses when trading in for cash or are they only towards credit? Or would i have better luck on gumtree.
I traded my PS4 Pro at the start of Feb at Eb Games on the DualSense bundle day it came out. They offered me $250 with a 20% trade bonus. I had a friend who took his in two weeks later and they only offered $113. The condition doesn't really matter as long as it works and has a controller and cables. You can call your local ebgames and ask them on the phone what the current trade in price is. The rate is the same for cash or store credit when trading. You only get a discount if you put it towards a new purchase in the same transaction from my understanding.
