I think it would be super weird to swim in someone else’s pool.

Now imagine you're an owner and you're charging $50 for someone to piss in your pool

I just imagine the cameras and lack of privacy. No thanks.

Imagine letting them in your house overnight. Then air bnb happened and I still think its weird.

    • Especially if nude and they are inside watching from the kitchen.

      • +2

That's where you charge them for the privilege!

I think it would be super weird to swim pee in someone else’s pool.

    • How is this any different from renting someone else's house?

  • +7

Do the owners sit inside and just watch you in the pool?

    This idea is terrible

also site breaks on firefox when location permission is denied :)

  • Hate to think of the legal and insurance implications for an owner/lessee should there be an accident or negligence….a weird concept

Will it be much different to Airbnb/CarNextDoor/YouCamp/HipCamp?

      • maybe it is or isn't …I presume airbnb operators are expected to declare to their insurers that they are providing guest accommodation/tenancies (or require specific landlord insurance) - I'm not sure whether people declare guests are using home swimming pools for the purpose of liability coverage of property insurance policies, hence possible legal exposure……

    • Wouldn't it be covered under renters insurance

When the information supplied on their site hasn't even been localised I would not be too confident in everything being done to protect you legally.

    eg

    What protections does Swimply offer?

All U.S. based Swimply Hosts are automatically covered by our $1,000,000 host liability guarantee and $10,000 in property damage insurance (On us!).

    • It looks localised to me - they're clearly stating that if you're not in the US then there's absolutely no insurance 😎

Paying to use a pool by the hour doesn't appear to be a bargain. More like using Ozbargain for free advertising.

So an old creepy guy can rent out their pool and watch little girls swim? No thanks

Your username seems to tell everyone you already do that😂

There was someone on Reddit that was asking for legal advice - they booked and pool and had used the same one numerous times, every time the owner was out. One time the owner was home and their dog attacked the pool user - Owner ignored the person and wouldn't respond to messages and Swimply ignored it as well

    • wow ill neg it due to this

So Swimply you can carve it

Support your local council pool if at all possible. Everyone wants to rally around to "Save Our Pool", but it is the daily patrons that keep the wolves from the door…
