I'm planning on buying a techfast/BPC/enigma pre-built - is it worth buying this to replace the stock cooler (or default cooler in build)?
This won't be an upgrade over the stock cooler. More like a side-grade.
Note that you only need to ditch the stock cooler in circumstances where noise is an issue, for the folks who are buying a prebuilt and aren't overclocking the stock cooler is really only replaced when one finds the CPU fan too loud, but you also have to take into consideration case airflow. No point replacing just the CPU heatsink when your case temperatures are also high, since that too will contribute equally to fan noise and operating temps.
Thanks.
If you can pickup for $9? Probably. Most tests still show this as being about 3C better than the stock coolers under most scenarios.
But if you have delivery cost, 3C is not significant enough to spend +shipping ($20); when a $50 4 heatpipe cooler can make significant improvements.
As you can probably tell by the price… these are not very good. IMHO better spend $30 for a decent CoolerMaster or better
What model do you mean though? The two heat pipe coolermaster would be similar performance.
Oh yeah that looks alright. Still for $9 can't go wrong just for a stock cooler replacement
seems to be expired
$12 shipping to WA, fyi.
