I've tried this before and it's passable but under normal circumstances it's a real gamble as to how short-dated their products will be. With this much of a discount I imagine it'll be very close to the best before.

Is expiry date in the next three months?

    • +1

probably. but still wouldnt buy this. More sugar than protein. I would rather eat a nice pizza.

I bought 2.5kg of the chocolate orange 2 weeks ago and the expiry was April-23

      • +1

        That's shocking, I'd ask for a refund

        • +1

Yes. I did on the basis that the clearance page didn’t even state it had a short shelf life. After about 6 or so back and forths they offered a refund.

Messaged chat for expiry date… they've advised they don't have exact date but it expires within 2 months, still good to use after

Good deal but I'm not risking it. Still takes me a year to finish 800g

    • A year for 800g - do you use a bottlecap as a scoop?

      • Hahaha I only put 1-2 scoops rather than the 7 scoops it says on the side. Don’t understand how people put in the recommended scoops - it makes it so sweet and thick when blended.

I take it more as a calorie top up than a full meal replacement.

        • Hahaha I only put 1-2 scoops rather than the 7 scoops it says on the side

7? The serving size for this is 2 scoops

          • @Lucille Bluth:

7? The serving size for this is 2 scoops

The protein powders and meal replacements I go for need 5-7 scoops. I also add oats on the side so can't fit everything into a blender cup.

        • Maybe your mixing Milo with protein powder, 7 scoops of milo vs 2 scoops of protein powder

          Have you used protein before?

    I will consider if it's 18.99 delivered>

34gm of carbs per 100gm and 27 of that is sugars… 13gm of fat too. Wpc is below antioxidants and caking agent. And it's just above flavouring so basically a miniscule amount of wpc. So majority of protein is from the skim milk.

    • +9

Reading that, anyone would think it's a meal replacement product rather than WPI. Weird

      • Did anyone mention Wpi. Maybe go do your research on good MRPs . There are ones that have a good amount of quality proteins and the carbs they have aren't just an overload of sugars. Having skim milk powder as the no.1 protein ingredient is a joke.

        • I've found this really good MRP during my research this morning. They call it "Whole Foods" and the brand is "MRP's are a Backup"

Seems to have really good quality proteins, so I was thinking of just doing that and maybe getting this product for a cheap calorie top-up when I need something on run… Exactly as the product was intended

          • @fleetfeather: Actually you are still missing the point but that's fine both comments are just full of sarcasm and negativity for some unknown reason. MRPs are designed for people to skip a meal and use them instead as a health food supplement to improve health and body shape. Hence the term Meal Replacement.

If you want cheap calorie supplement. The cheapest is to buy maltodextrin by itself..super cheap and can be found in supermarkets and it's what's predominantly used in cheap calorie powders like this one. Other option is to buy a bulking powder there are some designed for pure calorie consumption and are cheap and still use better quality ingredients than this. Why would someone buy a health food supplement for low quality ingredients. Including the fact that using skim milk powder as the main source brings with it not only lactose tolerance issues for people but also being mainly out of casein protein , it also brings with it casein allergies. At best this should be sold as a bulking high calorie hard gainer product. Not a MRP.

Being a hard gainer myself when I started weights. I was 50kg at 20yrs at 178cm. The worst powders I used were ones like this where all I gained was fat and then had to go about losing that fat again..there are good bulking proteins to add calories but still have quality supplements and ingredients.

Like I mentioned in one of the above comment, a pizza is probably healthier than this stuff.

Yup, some people just don't know much and have issues if others try to help people out. I have been researching and working with supplements for around 26 years. I have right now around 200+kg of protein powders at home as I try out different brands and models. The worst protein powders I have had are the ones disguised as MRPs but are basically just cheap sugar based powders hidden as health food supplements. Very cheap to make and so high profit margins and people buy them thinking they are good or required to put on muscle or weight. When all they do is put on fat. You can just buy skim milk powder on its own anyway as that's the main protein ingredient and you will do without a lot of the added sugars that this has.

  • Just bought 2 for myself and bcaas alongside some outlet clothes with bonus 35% off 😀

Hope i do not regret them

The hell, was this from this deal post? i ordered one last night, i'm gonna be annoyed if its really short dated, they should need to post the expiry date on these type of deals.

      • +1

Was from a deal before, bought it for $28 Plus shipping

      • Did you not read everyone posting about short dated stock, or the previous threads about short dated stock.

        • Hi, i purchased my order shortly after this deal was posted, so there werent many comments of complaints visible to me until after i had already ordered. I had also spoken to a work colleague quickly who has used this brand before and advised its an ok brand.

If it is short dated when it arrives i think i can try to engage their custoemr support, worst case scenario if i can leave an honest review for the product and try to get paypal to assist if required.

          • @Aarent: Just received it, short dated 05/2023
