  • Didn't the 55" get down to about this price? Or was that the CX?

    • +1

the 55" C2 has never been this low.

    • +1

The CS 55 inch got down around there after Christmas.

It is fantastic as a pc monitor!

    • +1

So do you have to turn the TV on with the remote when you turn pc on?

      • +1

I do yes, tbh I turn it off a lot more than I would a computer monitor anyway and have aggressively set screensavers etc, anything to try avoid burn in.

This apparently works well. It turns the TV power using the webapi.

Can attest LG TV Companion works a treat. Using it on my 42 C2 as we speak!

        • Thanks will try that tomorrow

      • +1

LG TV Companion fixes this. I had my fears that I’d wake up one morning and WOL would somehow turn the screen on and burn in while I’m asleep. To give some peace of mind, 4 months later and it hasn’t happened yet. I own the 42 inch C2 and use it primarily as my daily PC monitor.

        • It has pixel jitter built in, how will it burn in?

  • I am still not sure if it's worth to replace my 34 inch Xiaomi ……

    • That's exactly what I replaced. I don't argue the LG I'd better for work but man is it better for gaming!

What did you dp with the old 34?

        • Do? I sold it

    • +1

If it is for gaming then LG OLED series are one of the the best monitors/TVs

      • Nice list but it has made my decision harder. In my area i can get near new (only a few days old) GIGABYTE Aorus FO48U 48 (3rd on that list), Samsung Odyssey G9 (9th on the list) for $1200. Or now the C2 for slightly more.

I am leaning towards the G9 as the ultrawide appeals to me due to the immersive experience and the ability to split the screen for productivity more. It is only a QLED though so the blacks arent as good as the Neo but you dont notice that unless they are side by side.

        decisions decisions :/

        • +1

Unless the Aorus is significantly cheaper I wouldn't take it over the LG.

The OLED picture quality and HDR is quite better than the G9, the curve is immersive though but I personally found it wears off after a while and was of less appeal in the end.

          • @Osiris: Thanks for the advice. Both the g9 and Auros i can get for $1200, was hoping to offer 1k flat for either one, but happy to spend that little extra for something better.

Honestly I regret moving from a 49 Samsung. Had 34 Asus prior so very adjusted to UW.

    • This is a great price and great monitor, however, I think OLED is about to get god tier over '23 and '24. If you can hold another year that will be best (imo). Primary concern for me is burn-in.

      • +1

        What changes are happening?

      • Oled coming in 23 and 24" from major brand? LG and Samsung?

        • +1

Yeah this boy is coming out now - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YBJFYGtmQk

          • +1

@Budju: Wow. Might have to hold for a new monitor purchase. Look like the influx of oled monitor is here.

            • @ChickenAdobo: Yeah I think this is the beginning of something very good for monitors, not sure about how expensive they will be but they seem amazing.

    • Having this exact same thought. On one hand I do love ultrawide, but on the other hand… OLED.

      • Same, Samsung will have a viable option this year though with the 49" OLED UW

  • Niiiccccceeeee. I missed this same price a cpl of months ago, was tempted at 1695 recently but glad i didnt do it then!

  • Pricing would be wild if you stack with discount cards and bonuses. Essentially one of the, if not the, best OLEDs for the price of a much cheaper QLED.

Expect more discounts as manufacturers try to turnover stock between now and Easter as 2023 models arrive.

    • what are the discount cards, how do you get them?

      • +1

You can buy 5% off gift cards if you are member of a bunch of different programs. eg Pay $475, for a $500 card.

Such as insurance programs, or employee programs (eg. Comm Bank employees, etc)

      • If you have access to rewards gateway you can get 5% off JB gift cards to any dollar amount, would bring the price down to $1325.25.

  • Thx OP - walked into JB only yesterday to look at this unit - only to see the >$2200 tag
