Ac is wifi 5, this is wifi 6
I could be wrong but you probably won't feel any difference unless your internet speed is high enough and is bottlenecked by the router, or if you do a lot of file copy between your devices.
Other than the router all your devices would need to be Wifi 6 ready to enjoy the benefits.
Some of my friends are working on the Wifi 7 products and I told them I don't even have one single device at home that runs on WiFi 6 lol.
Note: Not Merlin compatible
Not latest - latest is 7 latest available is 6e.
What's the difference with Asus rt-ax56u ?
RT-AX56 has less Wi-Fi antennas, more RAM, USB ports, support for IFTTT and more.

Are routers with more antennas better?
Define "better". My new has 2 antennas and better speed / coverage compared to my previous with 4.
Also, some don't have any protruding antennas, yet, provide better performance than these.
Bought that last year as Ai Mesh node to pair with RT AC86U. Works great
Next-Gen WiFi Standard
eh?
802.11ax was next gen at the time of release. They generally don't go back and update the marketing materials.
Will this have better range the starlink toaster?
How would this compare to a RT-AC86U? This seems like a great model, but perhaps the budget tier. Just wondering if it's worth it or spending more for a higher AX model. To cover a unit with 15-20 devices.
