$500 for 500gb =S
Its much cheaper to buy a 1TB external hard drive ($135), connect it your computer which would be connected to a router. Then set it as a share drive so everyone on the network can access it.
It's $400 and a NAS can also have server functionality such as remote web/ftp access to files, downloading capabilities, squid, etc. The size of the thing should have given you the idea that this is not just a hard drive that you connect to a router.
Weird. When I go to DSE and it says $399 (with $12.50 postage) which will be cheaper than cheapest at StaticICE. This also includes second drive bay to let you do RAID1. It also has features like bittorrent download. Although I think feature wise, MWave's Synology 2 drive NAS deal a while ago looks much better.
there's no bargain here? 500 for 500gb drive? :P
** ok, i revoked my vote, looking at the title and description I thought it was $499 so didn't bother to click in. Ok it's good price, thanks scotty for confirming it.
