This is the cheapest price recorded on CamelCamelCamel although checking here on Ozbargain it was cheaper during Black Friday (but suspect it didn't last long if CamelCamelCamel didn't record the price).

    Comparing them just by what's included for the price, e.g. without believing the Meta branded one is "high quality" and the $25 Elite branded one is "cheap crap".

    I think the extra $50 for the Head strap in this deal is because it comes with an extra battery.

    If you've researched these at all, you'd know that the two you've linked to are crap (especially the Meta one, which consistently fails and breaks after a few months for the majority of people).

    Meanwhile this is considered one of the best, if not the best strap replacements with battery. And you're getting two batteries and the charger.

  I reckon it would be better to get the bobovr2 head strap separately from aliexpress and your own powerbank of choice - might be cheaper and you know the quality of the power bank you are getting.

  E.g. Anker PowerCore 10000 PD Redux, 10000mAh Power Bank USB-C Power Delivery (18W) https://amzn.asia/d/7quJvzU - $70 atm (I got mine for $50)

  And

  Headstrap - around $40-50

  And

  Quest powerbank strap - around $17-20

  Roughly same price but with a high quality powerbank that you choose.

    The BOBOVR M2 Plus is high quality gear. You don't have to fiddle around with cables, batteries, lug around the headset to charge and everything looks clean. It's also the comfiest by far (much better than the M2 Pro) and I've tried a fair few headstraps. If you use the Quest 2 a lot then it's worth every cent for mine.

    i reckon not, coz i started doing it with your way.
    and when it comes wearable, you really want the item is polished and ironed out. Your method saves around 70$, but the comfort and convivence are much differ. I had been using the power bank method for over 2 years, the day i got this bobo one, regret so much that I hadn't bought it earlier.
    heavy power bank means a lot of weight on your head, if you tether it, then you are no longer wire free.
    the battery pack came with the bobo can be used as a normal powerbank too (it has usbc port although nothing fancy).

    sure, you are indeed suggesting a viable method, but that is not a substitute for this end game product.

  I bought it for this exact price during Christmas, wanted it urgently so my partner could use it whilst we were in our two week period where we thought we were into VR.

    When was that? The price history I saw for Aliexpress had $145 plus delivery as the cheapest in the last several months.

    And I'd definitely rather pay a few bucks more for local shipping and dealing with Amazon rather than Aliexpress.
