Ozito Electric Lawn Mower @Bunnings Kotara $80

60

Just a quick heads up that the ozito electric lawn mower is $80 at bunnings kotara. Not sure if it's at other bunnings stores too. It comes with 2 years warranty. I only have a small yard so it suits me. The reviews on product review look good too.

Hope it's useful to someone :)

PS I just added a picture of the box and price sticker. Can't find the receipt?! Sorry gang.

The reviews on product review look good too.

How were the reviews on that cheap camera you bought?

Just kidding… Came to say I have that mower and it works well. 300mm is a bit narrow, but it is so light you can zip up and down quickly. Petrol-heads will argue, but I like the reduced weight and not needing ear-muffs.
Recent Bosch deal is probably best of both worlds, but four times the price. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/75422

    • iPhone 4S camera. Seemed to do the job.

    • 300mm is a bit narrow,

You're kidding, right? This things only a 300mm wide cutting path?

      • 300mm blades obviously

        • Yeah, I realise that. I just reckon that only 300mm makes it a bit of a toy…

… I mean that's absolutely tiny compared to a real mower LOL

i'd still prefer to pay more for the Ozito Ecomow Electric Mower. http://www.bunnings.com.au/products_product_ozito-ecomow-ele…

    better specifications for $134.00

    • Oh - that must be the one I got.
What is the difference between that and the above? Aside from 20mm wider cut and 100W.

  • I've got one, it's 'Fair' (on a Rubbish-Fair-OK-Good) scale, a bit plasticy and a bit rough on grass like cooch. The lowest setting is really not that low. Thought it would be good for my small yard and nature strip, but the cord is a pain in the…yard. Buying a petrol mower to replace. Not negging the deal, but doesn't surprise me they are trying to move these units.

  • I think there is only one ozito mower.
$80 is a good deal. This only suits really small lawns guys. Does the job but small blade and small catcher make medium and large lawns a real workout. Really quiet and low power consumption. 2 year swap out warranty.

The fact that it is not wireless ruins it completely, I bought one mistakenly and I simply refuse to mow lawns with a cable dangling around so I returned it posthaste

  • Yep good price if you need one in a small unit, just remember not to let the grass grow long as it just wont have the power to get through it. I had to lean my neighbour my petrol mower when his bosh electric couldn't cut the mustard.

  • I love the idea of an electric mower for my fairly small yard but how do you easily make sure not to run over the cord? If you are going back and forth I would assume that it would be annoying to avoid (and quite dangerous??).

    • how do you easily make sure not to run over the cord?

Isn't it obvious? You start at the end near the power source (house). Just do the normal back-and-forth mowing stripes, e.g. finishing along the back fence. So the cord is always on the grass you already mowed.

just remember not to let the grass grow long

Mine ($13x model) cuts long grass just fine, except the small catcher fills up in no time.
It is reel mowers (the rotating cylindar) that have trouble in long grass.

      • ^This.

Other then the catcher i hardly notice a difference between mowing every week or every six months unless the undercarrige gets really cloged with wet grass it just keeps on cutting.

Having said that mowing even a small ammount of grass with the catcher on is a nightmare it is much to small

  • get the 130$ version, a bit bigger. and it's good been using it for over 1.5 years now, never fail. and it's cheap, so you don't feel guilty bumping it around, and it doesn't need oil change.

good for small size lawn only.

  • I currently have the said $134 ecomow 320 for sale if anyone is interested. Price $80 with receipt. 1.5 years old, so 1/2 year warranty left. Eastwood Sydney pickup.

  • I have a large (300m2) lawn, I has been using it for 4-5 years. It starts everytime!

  • My elderly neighbour had one of these, bought it to replace his petrol mower.

I put it together for him and I have to say it's pretty horrible quality. Very toylike quality and has a big problem with grass clipping getting through the VERY BADLY sealed top section and into where the electric motor is.

I used it a few times to see how it goes and it does a so-so job….but I'd have very little confidence in this being able to regularly do more than a very small courtyard.

Ozito warranties are usually pretty good BUT I would be amazed if you got more than a few years use from it. The quality is VERY shoddy!!!

After a few months heaps of it had gone rusty and the old boy had given up on using it (only did so about 3 times) and got a local bloke to do instead.

I'd definitely prefer to pay 4x the amount and get the 36v Bosch from Amazon UK.

    • Or you could just pay a little more for the better Ozito model.
Don't forget you'll need another couple sets of expensive batteries for that Bosch over the next ten years.
