Don't forget to make another Xbox account for retail Ra. Apparently accounts have been getting banned

      • Really? People are getting banned?

        • No, they’re not.

Only people who had a dev account that uploaded the RA get banned, not the person who installed it.

          • @PainToad: So people who have RA on dev kit and use within dev kit mode - should be ok?

            • @billynotsilly: Yes. It’s only an issue if you compile the app yourself and submit it to the store for others to download.

          • @PainToad: Really how do you know?

I've used Ra for a long time and haven't been banned, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

Made another profile on my Xbox and use that to play Ra, don't want to lose all my g on my account that I've accumulated over 13 years

            • @Bretttick:

              Really how do you know?

Because I compiled a custom build with different versions of Retroarch cores that I wanted. I created a fake account to upload the build to the MS store (set to private and I was the only one to install it). Eventually the account got banned.

              But I don’t care. Because:
              1) I paid for the dev account using a VPN and it only cost a few bucks.
              2) Retroarch still works fine on consoles it was installed too.
              3) My main account that downloaded it wasn’t banned.

I've used Ra for a long time and haven't been banned

Again, unless you’re the one uploading it to the store, not the one downloading it, you should never get banned.

              • @PainToad: Thats good to know.

I heard something about clowns taking screenshots and uploading to Xbox server are getting banned. Why you would want to do that in the first place puzzles me.

Just play and get retroachievements 👍

  • Mister is a similar price and more faithful.
Ok we’ll probably more but a better investment

    • Quite a bit more actually :( But yes better investment. The aesthetic of this is quite nice though… I picked up a flashback X for $20 on fb market, looks great, controllers left a lot to be desired though.

  • I found something like this from Vinnes for $30 a while back, but it had only RCA, still didn't check whether it is working or not

    • One of the many countless earlier revisions

yeah, I searched while at store, may be rev 6 or so. I don't have nostalgic connection to these like for NES as they were released well before I was born, just got as an collectible hehe

Yeah my older sisters bought me up on this and also a Hanimex which I've seen on ebay lately too.

Never had a NES originally, cousins did, my first was technically the SNES.

@scuderiarmani: I didn't have a NES too, but had a some kind of NES clone (called PRIMA or so) in late 90s, by then even N64 was released. They were pretty expensive back home and my dad got it from an overseas business trip. Best birthday ever lol.

I didn't have much games to play other than Super Mario/Duck Hunt etc. But some of my friends had good cartridges like Contra, Robocop etc, I used to visit them and watch them play.

This is the Atari Flash back I have.

Cries I is getting old :(

Honestly these games are shit and worth 1 play for nostalgia purposes

And it sure is worth it!

Brings you back in time where everything is carefree and it’s as if you were at grandmas house again sitting on the floor at 6am to play space invaders.

  • Any usefulness for modding etc?
