    They have full priced items? I thought nothing was sold at full price in order to have an exclusion list the size of the phonebook.

      Yep, and that is the same problem with Bunnings — same item, in stock, 10% offer; but they have their "own" brands that aren't sold elsewhere for a lot of things and no competitor will have that exact line.

    In store, Ive never had a problem using these on already discounted items. Their system is basic and does not flag it to cashier's.

    Online is different story.

      Ive also had the opposite problem of coupons NOT being applied in store and the cashiers have to do it manually.

    Keep in mind that their 40% off is just normal price elsewhere. It is just harder to comparison shop as they have home brands.

    For kitchen stuff that can be compared, the price is the same.

      People don't understand this with spotlight, they see a high discount and think it's some god send offer. I decorate cakes and the colouring gels are $6.50 whereas from a cake store is $4, food flavouring is $7 and it's $4 from other stores. Even with the 40% discount, it's still higher price.

      I get it some items may be spotlight exclusive but it doesn't excuse the fact that it's still overprice or another brand may be cheaper retail and better quality.

      It depends on what section.
      It depends if you can wait for postage.
      It depends if postage costs elsewhere make it better to buy in store.
      It depends on the sale or discount - some are better than others
      It depends if you're buying something else and its convenient to have a broad range in one place.
      It depends if you might need to return it.

      I always just price check everything they sell, including postage, and weigh up the pros and cons.

    What about something like the Cricut things? I kinda always wanted one but I get confused by the amount of machines they offer each time and back off.

      I have yet to see a sale where they are included. I tried this code and it didnt work online as I expected.

      Their range is confusing. I think manufacturers do it on purpose. Like with phones.
