    Thanks OP.

    Case, PSU, and RAM done.
Motherboard, CPU and Graphics Card to go.

    • +3

Well you have the cheap stuff sorted at least :P

    • +9

Dont buy nvidia gpu, especially 40 series. Grossly overpriced.

      • +2

the 4070ti is selling for as low as $1299 already so I humbly disagree and its cheaper even at @launch $1500 and up prces, or the 1700 than the 7900XT witch it trades blows with, winning most. Its already as faster as a 3080 and can even keep up often with the 3090

If you wait you may even get it for $1200 on SALES in 3 months or so. No matter the price and the performance, you will still get HODDL as a post (guilty as charged) but here you have 12gb GDDR6X memory and it will do everything you need for 2 years until the NEW nVidia/AMD cards come along (for which I hear good things already)

      Good luck! Exciting

Looks like these are 3200 CL16-18-18.

Can I combine these with my Kingston Fury Beast, also 3200 CL16-18-18? (Product code KF432C16BB1K232)

    • +1

Sorry I have no answer but after I searched it up it may be possible I recommend trying to find an answer on google, reddit etc

    • +3

Yes but compatibility is not 100% guaranteed. Especially in quad channel configs

    • Most likely u should be able to. I ran 48GB 3200mhz CL16 and 96GB 3600mhz CL18 in 2 servers. If not, Aube try apply higher dram voltages? I'm no expert though.

if you like to give yourself a big head f__k, then definitely go ahead. Reason:

your Kingston kit is definitely 8Gbit 2Rx8, because kingston explicitly list it as so on their spec sheet, but at the same time, kingston do not list which manufacturer their IC is coming out from and luckily they use basically every IC manufacturer under the sun — Samsung/Hynix/Micron/Nanya and the icing on the cake is every manufacturer have more than 3 revisions of 8Gbit ICs and I've seen kingston used them all. TL;DR for this part: there's about more than 12 possibility of what chip your Kingston RAM uses.

for this GSkill RAM, it could use either 8Gbit or 16Gbit chip, so there's like more than 20 different possibility of IC choices.

even if you are lucky enough to end up with the a similar enough IC to make them compatible to each other, (since your kingston ram is 2Rx8, the GSkill one have to be 2Rx8 to be compatible) this means in the best case scenario, you would end up with every sticks being 2Rx8, on a dual channel motherboard it means you will have Quad rank setup. quad rank is the worst in terms of stability, it would be a lottery even being able to turn on XMP.

and a more likely scenario is you will end up with a not compatible IC and there's nothing you can do but to return it, and Mwave is not obligated to return it for you (I don't see why not, but that's only if Mwave willing to do good things)

Thanks mate. Best I stick with the exact same ram.

        • there's about more than 12 possibility of what chip your Kingston RAM uses.

again, even if you buy another kit from Kingston, its still not guaranteed to work.

How's the review with these RAMs compared to corsair vengeance LPX?

    • Sorry I'm not sure but you can try searching it up if you haven't already

    • I've never even seen a RAM review, though I guess they exist.

RAM is simple enough that the capacity/speed/timings are enough to know what you are getting, for most builds.

I do go for brand names, myself, but it's probably not necessary.

  • My mate bought 4 of these when they were $714 plus 10% CB last week.

Can the above Ram be used to upgrade the above PC?

The plan is to upgrade two machines by removing 8GB modules from the other two machines and installing this G.skill Flare 16GB for those.

    • +1

      yes it should be possible

    • Most likely issue will be xmp- OEM HP basic machines don’t have a lot of options in their bios. If not worries then of course should work fine.

  • 3200MHz CL16-18-18-38 64GB also on sale at $279: https://www.mwave.com.au/product/open-box-gskill-ripjaws-v-6…

    • mwave becoming the king of ram deals

    • Is there any simplified way to understand those numbers? I want to upgrade my 16bg on my B350 F but I can't seem to find information if whether this ram is okay for that board.

      • +2

Simplified not really. clearly? Yes. https://youtu.be/o59V3_4NvPM

      • +4

You don't really need to pay attention to those numbers, those are just memory timings. Those timings don't really dictate whether or not the RAM works for your board. You can even change those timings in the BIOS or via Ryzen Master, if they happen to make your motherboard unhappy at their XMP settings.

Every motherboard vendor publishes what's called a QVL, which in short, it's a list of memory modules that the motherboard has tested with and the manufacturer has given the 2 thumbs up for memory compatibility. However, it's never a definitive list since the team doesn't have all the time in the world to test every memory stick in existence, so the QVL list can be thought of as 'very incomplete' and your motherboard will generally support the vast majority of RAM that is out there.

It's important to keep the BIOS up to date too as those updates can improve compatibility with certain memory.

This page explains whether sticking with QVL is important (Spoiler: it's not that important)

Except for Asus and AMD motherboards …

  • +1

Anyone got a thaiphoon shot of these ? Any luck they are dual rank ?

  • +1

This is crazy good deal, I paid 280 for b die c14 back few years and only 16GB

    • +1

They are not the c14 kit, this is the c16 variant.

I also paid about $320 for the c14 16gb kit back in the day. Still goes strong though

      • I know but it is 32GB though, the newer gen AMD platform is not that picky, so good deal for sure.

        • +1

Oh yeah, good deal. Just not our godly kit :)

As an aside, I ended up finding another c14 16gb kit on FB marketplace for $50 so now I have 32gb, not so bad

        • 5000 series likes faster RAM, 5800x3d not so much.

          • @beeze: Not going to complain about 3200 c16, just saying don't confuse it with proper b-die c14.

  • Also looking for some duel rank info

    • It's time to d-d-d-d-d-d-duel rank info

  • might be a silly question but is there really a need for 32gb of ram? Like what would you need that much ram for? Ive only got 8gb at the moment and its not enough. im buying a new pc for my bday and looking at getting 16gb. would it be worth grabbing these instead

    • +2

16gb is enough for 95% of applications and home users unless you're some sort of streamer /use for production workloads. Though for 116ish delivered may as well get this especially if it's dual rank. Still googling to find a thaiphoon burner screenshot myself. If it's dual rank it's a no brainer at this price

    • +2

a minority of games require over 16gb of games, so 32 is for them. Also I heard mods are ram dependent. 32 is also a nice to have to never worry about ram for the future, especially cause now some system requirements for very recent games such as hogwarts legacy actually require you to have 32gb if you want highest possible fps/with highest possible res. The final and best reason is this is the best possible value you can get, 32gb is not that more expensive then 16gb (cheapest currently is $65) for 40ish extra you get an extra 16gb making this the best option you can get. Thank you for listening to my ted talk

    • Personally, I'll be using this stick of RAM for the next 5+ years. It's just easier to get 32 now and forget about upgrading from 16 to 32 down the road.

    • As always depends what youre doing
My lightroom runs about 12gb alone, plus google tabs, outlook, teams etc

  • Says it's for AMD in particular.
I'm not interested in investigating what that means exactly but if someone has Intel they should probably check it out.

    • It also says that it's Intel XMP ready so it will be fine for either. It probably just advertises that it's made for AMD since earlier CPU's were picky with what ram it was paired with but it's not a major issue anymore.

I think only the newer DDR5 EXPO ram is specifically for AMD CPUs.

  • great deal! should i upgrade to 64gb? all slots wwill be full though

  • Noob question..
These compatible with Acer Nitro 5 laptop??..
Looking to upgrade the 8 gig of factory ram..

    • +1

no, you need so-dimm, i have same laptop, added crucial 16gb ddr4 so-dimm ram from amazon making it 24gb

    • +1

This is not a laptop RAM but for Desktop

Use the Crucial System scanner or Advisor to find the correct type of RAM

  • Does the G.Skill Flare "X " only work with AMD?

    • +2

after goggling it, apparently this ram was optimized for ryzen AMD CPUs and their memory controllers and how they worked at the time. Oher than that, its still like any other DDR4 ram and will work on both AMD and Intel systems without issue. Its just a marketing speak for "optimized for AMD Ryzen configs" but it means ultimately no difference to a normal DDR4 kit.

  • lol i remember this lineup specifically the samsung b die range and how overhyped it was during 1st gen ryzen.

beware !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Designed for AMD Platforms !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dont buy it if you use intel Platforms

  • +1

    Thanks OP.

  • OOS?

    • yes. seems to have returned to its default price. Ozbargain'd!

  • These are known to struggle to get to 3200 speed and run stable anyone have these and tried them before?

  • +3

I just received an email to say they oversold the units and will send me some by February 10th of Feb

    • Same here. Wonder how many they oversold.

    • Same. Glad they didn't cancel it.

Still waiting on motherboard from Germany. ETA March.
