For those that missed the deal last year, here it is again but 2 cents more expensive. Get it before it goes up another 2 cents! Stocks are extremely low in-store for some annoying reason but if you're rich you can get it delivered.

Description from BigW website:
"The Action Multi Function Chin Up Trainer is the ultimate home fitness accessory. With the chin up trainer you can perform chin ups, pull ups, sit ups, push ups and dips. The chin up trainer fits most standard door frames and features comfortable non slip foam handles."

More info and user manual can be obtained from wholesaler, Action Sports & Fitness:

Note: the unit might not fit your door. I have an old house with fat walls and roller-doors and it didn't fit. I had to use the patio.

Delivery charges depends on your Zone according to BigW. If traffic wakes you up in the morning, you pay $8. If roosters wake you up, you pay $13.

Note that you can order 100 chin-up bars and still only pay $8 delivery (or $13 rural).

The BigW website store availability feature is useless and wrong. Here's a secret: ring BigW on 1300 244 999 and ask them which stores really have stock or are awaiting delivery.

I checked the box twice - body oil and mirror are NOT included.

  • Isn't $9.84 the regular in store price for this?

    • Yep. Shouldn't really be here, I guess. I just wanted people to people know it still is this price, which is the cheapest I could find for this type of product. Is there a forum for deals that are always good but people don't know about? I rediscovered this "expired" deal by accident.

  • it was free shipping last time

  • Wow, can I get that body shape by using this trainer only?

    • yes, you can. as long as you DO use it.

  • don't want to torture my doors with my guilty weight…

  • I have been hunting for a reasonably priced one of these for ages, have checked Target and Kmart but never thought of Big W, thanks for the heads up!

  • looks like sold out @ mt gravatt/carindale

either that, or the person on the phone didnt really know what I was on about.

If they don't say "Yeah, the $10 ones, right?" you'd better quote them the Sku code off the webpage - BIGW_7925399.

I wish we could buy direct from the wholesaler in Silverwater or BigW would just get their act together (it's been "sold out" at Eastgardens like forever…).

And while I'm in a complainin' mood, why doesn't Randwick Council install any pull up bars anywhere? I can think of 4 in Waverley Council and 3 in the City off the top of my head. Maybe they're afraid of adults taking over parks. Or commercial enterprises taking over parks. Or me becoming a world-class gymnast instead of working in an office hunting down bargains.

I'll send off a petition at my next Facebook break.

      • I actually physically went down to the mt gravatt bigw today as I had chores to run. They were definitely out of stock. Looked like it had been ozbargained. The shelf they were sitting on looked like they were the only things that had been moved in a while.

will this work with my fantasy door swing?

  • I had serious reservations regarding the strength of my door frame supporting my weight (95kg), hence I never used it. Now I am a fat blob, but hey, I don't need to fix my door frame.

I have one in Adelaide if someone wants it :P

  • i got one from super a-mart about 18 months ago, paid 100$ for it too, shouldn't be a problem with your weight as my door frame's have no problems with my 85kgs, biggest problem was with my height meaning i had to hold my knee's up the whole time

  • Good deal, but if I wanted to do chinups I would go down to the local park and do them on the monkey bars. Right next to the little girls. The ones with pigtails.

Do you wear a bear suit.

  • Always been this price instore.
But I'll plus it on the fact that it's an absolute bargain compared to any other door chin up bar I've seen.
It really is a great piece of equipment for 10 bucks.
