tried to do click and collect twice last week, both got cancelled (with 2 different coles).

    • Same. I'll never order from them again.

      • +5

The coles online ordering experience in our experience is pretty lame compared to what Woolies provides

We have both locally and Coles fails to impress every time

        • Can attest to this. Scheduled a Coles locker pick-up for yesterday as we had a busy day, and at the allotted time they sent a text saying they couldn't get all the ordered items even though it was only a small order.

Out of curiosity, we ended up going into the store and the items they said they couldn't provide were right there on the shelf. Couldn't believe it. Never again.

    • Same thing happened to mine

    • So assuming you actually want it (in case you actually get it), a good product to beef up the spend to meet flybuys or spend X for y discount targets.

Dual Handle… Good thing I have 2 hands and only 1 mouth

    • +1

I only came to see how to use two hands at the same time to brush my teeth.

      • I checked the website, still cant work it out?

  • link nolonger working ….must have figured it's a miss price.

    • Still working for me

    • It works, just bought one, this is a great toothbrush, way better than the entry level one. It’s heavier than the cheap plastic feel on the entry level one and also a lot more powerful, also the battery last a lot longer each charge

  • Got one order confirmation thanks op .

  • Thanks OP. Nice catch. Got one.

  • Do they all use same charger base, regardless of models?

    • +1

Yes. I use a 9000 (waste of money), partner uses 2000 pro 2. Same charger

      • Any important (practical) differences?

        • +6

None that matter to me. The battery is the same, as is the motor.
The other features that the 9000 has over the 2000 pro 2 namely Bluetooth connectivity (wtf) and a few additional brushing modes are gimmicks. The 9000 has a different travel case but it is huge.

I wouldn't and don't recommend the 9000 to anyone unless you want to waste money and/ or consider your toothbrush a toy.

The reason I have mine is because it has a star wars design lol

          • +1

@abadacus: Yeah that one is over the top, the travel case is a stuff up too, proprietary cable, would be nice if USB C and or could hold charge etc.

Even the genius 8000 is a bit expensive but got the dual handle for $189 (RRP is $429 WTF and is currently still $300 on Amazon). Sold one handle for $60, so worked out ok.. came with 4 brush heads, I've got a spare charging base etc. Was cheaper than the Smart 5 I was looking at.

The main thing is the li-ion battery and they all have the same rotary movement I think (unless very cheap one). Meant to last two weeks without a charge for short trips may even take the base. Travel case of some sorts is necessary

The app doesn't even work properly on my pixel 7 - gimmick.

If I saw this deal at the time would be a no brainer, Bloody cheap, almost worth getting one to sell or for a spare/batteries.

          • @abadacus:

            namely Bluetooth connectivity (wtf)

…but, you can use it to turn on your bathroom light!

          • @abadacus: the blutooth does sound rediculous but maybe it could have some useful features… I don't think I need it though.

            • @Budju: If the app even did work on my phone, the only thing useful about it would be the reminder to change brush heads after 3 months.. and maybe which days you didn't brush haha

              • @G-rig: Yeah there coild be reminders to brush, advice on amount of time spent brushing each day etc. I'm sure it could be useful but meh

                • @Budju: It's a gimmick, the brush already vibrates every 30s for each quarter and a different one for end of 2 min, so don't need really.

                  • @G-rig: Yeah I have a 2000 for like 1 or 2 years, just saying in a perfect world it could have application.

    • -3

Why the negs? It's a cheaper price for as far as I can tell the same thing?

      • +4

I didn't neg you. The $19.82 is for 2pcs of brush heads only. Others options are $108.30 for a single handle toothbrush.

        • +1

          Thanks, damn that's very misleading.

          • @shkippy: I viewed your link and I read it as the Pro2000 series toothbrush and 2 heads. It even asks what outlet adapter you require. (2 for Australia) I am tempted to get it if someone else can verify. Very cheap
            @O O

            • +3

@Greens: Check the review on that listing, someone said they just got 2 brush head lol

          • @shkippy: It is. Almost cancelled my coles order and got one of these

    • could be a Chinese clone fake knock off.. The ones above are made in Germany

  • Nice. Maybe I was unlucky but my other one just died, and I only got 2 years use out of it so having 2 should be good.

  • +1

Do not use on children under age 3. How else do you scrub little kids?

    • +4

      With a kids toothbrush

  • Thanks OP; order placed. Hopefully it'll stack with this offer: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/744247

  • -3

I have a charger and heaps of brush heads. If it gets honored, ill sell the pink one/brush head with charger for $100 on marketplace

    • +2

      What a total brush head

    • Sorry, we couldn't find the page you're looking for

Chargers are $10 .. I sold a brand new GENIUS 8000 handle only for $60 on fb, could have maybe got $80 but not many messages besides the one. Go for it, still works out well splitting. The 2000 pretty old ni-mh I think.

      • It's lithium ion, but could well be very old

        • That's alright. Just remembered I had a pro 3000 and that was NiMH and rubbish after a few years, had it for 10 or so and the batteries go bad.. Amazing the oscillation speed when you get a new one. This one meant to last up to 2w before needing a charge compared to 2 or 3 uses.

It's a good idea getting the dual handle and selling one. Not many people think of it;)

      • Even if i get $57.80, ok price

  • Cracker of a deal, thanks

  • +6

One of the worst online order experience they have. They cancelled my order last 3 times. I was okay with cancelling but making the whole order process was so negging, I was feeling like the website want to discourage ordering!!

    • just have to go there and get one straight away with coles

    • +1

Maybe that means they dont actually have stock the store you have nominated? Why do you even try to keep ordering.

    • 100%. I ordered the 2 pack of the 2000's when they were on special around new years for around $80. It said it was in stock for click and collect the next day from my local coles. I made sure i didnt click for a 'substitute if out of stock'

I go in new years day and they come from out the back with an empty trolley with a single oral-b 100 in it. I said its meant to be a 2 pack of the pro 2000's. They said they didnt have any in stock so they are required to provide a substitute. I said to him that substituting 2 toothbrushes for one that is way lesser quality is nowhere near a substitute and defeats the purpose of buying a discounted/sale item.

I ended up having to get a refund and i went to woolies and the same toothbrush they were trying to give me as a $80 substitute they had on sale for $35. Got two for $70 even if they were lesser quality then i wanted.

Point being their system is not smart enough to say whether an item (that isnt perishables) is in stock in a particular store.

      • Hi @worthy1, just wondering how you managed to get a refund?
Do you need to take it back to a store?

I'm in the same boat now and checked the coles website and cannot see clearly how to proceed with refund.

        Thanks

        • +1

I just asked when i was there, i wasnt leaving with a lesser product/quantity. They refunded me on the spot at the service desk. I am guessing you could print off your online order receipt and take it in.

  • Save $231 lol!

  • +1

Item was unavailable just when I was about to proceed to payment.

  • can someone tell me why this one is so special?

    • one handle costs $179 RRP

      • wow, that's expensive, but handle is not important right ? i am just starting using the electric toothbrush, i feel battery can not last very long after 3, 4 times use etc

      • Currently $80 on Amazon

  • +1

    Did anyone actually get one!?

    • +1

      Yes, I did.

      • +1

        Which store did you visit?

        • +1

I went to 3 stores, got one in Hallam.

  • I prefer Philips or Colgate sonic tremble type toothbrush more gentle and less wear on the enamel and the brush itself

    • This is better for gums though

    • Rotary is functionally better at cleaning than sonic

      • Yeah, but Sonic's gotta go fast!

      • Rotary is not gentle my tooth fractured using rotary. Sonic tremble with soft bristles was the way to go.

        • +5

If your tooth fractured while brushing, you have more significant underlying problems that need to be addressed no matter what toothbrush you use..

        • Maybe pressing too hard or other issues as mentioned.

The rotary design is the best and like the small round brush heads. (Dentist also said this). It would be a patent design which is why Philips would use the standard shape brush head.

    • less wear on the enamel

      Citation needed

  • I have the Pro 3000 (also on special on Amazon) and it seems to leak from the body to the dock after use. Even if I dry it completely after use. It leaves a mark similar to the colour of my toothpaste and later on get mouldy which is gross.

Anybody experiencing it with the Oral B’s?

    • +1

Every Oral-B I have seen does this unfortunately.

      • Sad. Definitely a design flaw. My Philips didnt do that.

    • +9

Easily solved by taking the head off after use and rinsing and drying head and handle. Takes seconds and no more toothpaste gunge on base.

      • +1

        This.

Those that don't take off the head after brushing, you'll be surprised to see how much gunge builds up inside the head without any effort. After inspecting yours, you'll never want to leave the head on for extended periods after brushing ever again.

I clean my brush head periodically with my ultrasonic cleaner from Aldi

        • Thing is inside my brushhead is almost always clean when i take it off haha. Its draining down well to the base i guess. Just a pain to have to do this every time to prevent it whereas other brands dont have this issue.

          • +1

            @ozchobie: Just basic maintenance.
Hard not to get anything wet by nature.. just don't put on the base untill it's dry or something then .. and clean the base once and week.

Like telling people how to have a shower

            • @G-rig: AS mentioned I already completely dry it after use. I do clean the gunk regularly as it is needed.

              • @ozchobie: Wouldn't worry about it too much.

              • @ozchobie: Get one that has the brush head storage holder thing, and put the brush heads in that (I think the pro 3000 and above come with it.

Also stops bathroom germs and faeces getting on it.

          • +2

@ozchobie: Hollow stem of the brush head

            • @abadacus: Well I have a Sonicare Diamondclean also so I am saying from my experience. My partner has one too for 4 years and no issues like this.

    • The unit isn't leaking - probably just water running down the brush after you rinse under tap.
Agree that taking the head off and rinsing that and the handle under water after using, then drying would prevent this.
Doesn't hurt to clean the charging base every so often too .

ps, may check if my local store has any - hard to tell online.

  • +2

Tip.. if you don’t floss nightly then even a $200 toothbrush will not will stop bleeding gums / bad gum health.

best floss I have found is dr tungs floss - do not use waste your time on rubbish oral B waxed floss

    • Vice versa

    • are there massive differences between dr tungs floss vs oral B floss?

  • Thanks Op! Grabbed 2 in 1 order.

Your order xxxxxxx has been confirmed

    • Yeah, but that one is $117, make sure you select the right item under the COLOR category.

  • +1

Lots of people saying order cancelled in the comments - if you're ordering online for this you're going to have a bad time.

I paid ~$86 when this was on special on new years day, to get that price I first went to my local, and when they confirmed no stock, I asked them to check where they was stock and they gave me a few stores 15 mins away that had 2-3 in stock. Even when I got there it wasn't on shelf in toothbrushes, nor was it in their aldi style section - eventually a guy found it for me out the back. Even if it was in stock I'd be surprised if the overworked 16yo picking the order wouldn't be just trying to make a substitution of it or just mark it OOS.

This is a brilliant price for 2 handles and I hope you guys get it, but it might need a bit of legwork.

    • Didn't see it on the shelves at the store, probably should have asked, but slim chance of finding one anyway.
Coles is turning out to be a time waster lately, stuff em.

  • There’s also a quad 4 way handle model

  • Got one this morning. None on shelves in toothbrush aisle. They were on display behind the service desk. Newcastle area NSW

  • When will they normally notify you to pick up? Placed an order yesterday for c&c tonight

    • It might have been cancelled, check your coles account

  • Order cancelled lol

  • Got one Coles Campbellfield Vic, not sure how many in stock as I did an online /pickup order
