ANZ Bank is now the majority shareholder of Cashrewards now I believe. Wouldn't be surprised if we see offers linked to ANZ from Cashrewards soon.

    • Booo-urns?

  • +11

I can't seem to keep my Amazon account balance below $700, it dips under for a day then another cheap gift card pops up …

  • OMG, stock tooo many gift cards at around 10% (ebay, amazon)-15% off (tcn/ultimate). It would be disaster to me if they offer higher discount 15% for ebay, amazon and 20% for tcn and ultimate..

    • +1

or you could hold off and the GC deals stop flowing and end up with 2% CB. Westpac has only put $30m on their shopback partnership, so I can't see them getting too crazy

  • +3

Do you think that having all these Westpac-exclusive ShopBack offers really make heaps of people sign up for a Westpac card?

Or do they just make you a bit bitter and resentful of Westpac and ShopBack?

    • -3

Westpac hopes for more customers to sell their overpriced products. I think it’s the wrong strategy to attract with Shopback deals. I am taking part in a lot of researches and Westpac doesn’t look good compared to other banks.

      • +1

I'm surprised by the downvotes. It's a good incentive by Westpac to get more customers. eBay do the same with their sales to encourage more people to sign up for eBay Plus.

    • It made me sign up. Not actually going to use them though, I transfer in funds solely when there's a cashback deal and don't keep anything in there

Super Swap is there too when I click shop now through the challenge, weird and potentially a problem.

    • Yes and i bought one just following those promts ‘shop now’…..

    • +2

Bought one too. Second time I got duped so far. This is bait-and-switching @gotyourback

      • +2

Same! Bought Super Swap. Not happy with this. @gotyourback

    • Same issue here, it got fixed after my order.

    • +2

Hey all, sorry for the confusion here, the Shop Now link usually takes you to a page of the eligible brands, but it looks like this one may have just redirected to the Gift Cards Home. Happy to help sort you out on this occasion if you're affected, reach out to me via DM with your SB email address and I'll take a look.

Just Wondering the Shopback Super Swap GC is eligible as it’s included when clicked the SHOP NOW?

  • +10

Westpac is the most unattractive bank except these Shopback deals.

    • +1

Have a few beers and maybe you'll change your mind

    • +1

Apart from ING, the international ones are horrendous. Like Citibank and HSBC. (Citibank might have improved as NAB took over their consumer portfolios)

      • +1

Yes love ING. HSBC is only good with the 2% cashback global everyday card.

        • +1

Second that. HSBC 2% cashback has been good and app. is user friendly too.

      • Citibank and HSBC are both great, actually. I haven't got 5c in value from ING in literal years.

      • Yes, they are highly bureaucratic.

    • +2

      Ing>Westpac>Ubank>ANZ>CBA>NAB>citybank
      Argue with me

  • +1

Thanks bought, now to wait for something to come up at Amazon tomorrow…

  • Strange, getting my westpac card has expired and cant be used, please add new card and try again
Yet only used it in the last day or two on Shopback

    • +1

Did it say this? Just got this error myself (have already used the card on SB a few times):

      Payment unsuccessful
Please contact your card issuer and try using a different card in 24 hours.

      @gotyourback Why is this happening?

      • +1

Unsure myself, it may be an connectivity error with your bank but I'd need to get our tech team to look at the back end if this is an ongoing issue. Reach out to me here or our customer service team at [email protected] if you're still having issues and we'll be able to take a look.

  • I just bought an Amazon GC and the switch to pay with $10 rewards credit was already selected so my Westpac card would only be charged $40. Does that mean I won't get the cash back? I think this happened to my last GC purchase this week too :( Really annoying that it's selected by default. I only just thought it might void it.

    • I just bought another $10 GC and it said my challenge was complete at least. Still sucks about the last GC.

    • I don't think it is selected by default - I think it just remembers the last thing you selected.
So if clicked it to pay with cashback last time then it will be set to that for next time, and if your last transaction was set to not use cashback then it is still selected on that for your next purchase.

  • Just got a huge ebay gift card at 10% off from the giftz promo… and still have plenty of amazon gift cards from aldi deal. hmmm…

  • hm, bought amazon gift card, but code is not valid… never had problem before , does it take some time for the voucher become active?

  • +9

That feeling when your emergency fund becomes your gift card fund

    • +2

If it is superswap, then it will be emergency fund as it includes supermarkets, petrol, popular online shops and others…

  • +1

    Thanks op

    Thanks op

  • @bargainsgrabber, can you please explain how to stack this with deals 1 & 2 you mention in the deal description above? Using EBay as an example, if you try to purchase a gift card via shopback app, the cash back percentage seems to 2.5% rather than 15%. If you use deal 1 to purchase via EBay, there doesn’t seem to be any way to purchase EBay Gift Cards directly on EBay. Similarly, if you purchase an Amazon gift card via the shopback app, the cash back percentage seems to be 2% rather than 15%. If you use deal 1 to purchase an Amazon gift card via Amazon (rather than via the shopback app), presumably this stacks both deals correctly?

    • -1

Hey mate, apologies, my description should’ve been clearer. I meant the stackable by using the gift cards at either Amazon or eBay to find something that you’d like for a higher total overall discount :)

      • -1

It doesn't work like that, last time it was cashback on the non gift card percentage

        • +2

Bunch of salty sooks on New Year’s Eve :)

What I meant is if you have a $50 purchase at either Amazon or eBay, I’ve made the efforts to read the previous deal comments to let you all know using partial gift cards are allowed for the stackable Westpac deals. It is still a Westpac deal isn’t it?

I’ve even linked the two deals on this deal post for easy access.

  • +1

    Thank you. Understood.

  • Why won't my westpac card link up ugh

  • +1

Secondary cards are not eligible it seems.

    • Yes because they have the same number, unlike AMEX.

  • Can you just open any Westpac account to get into the Westpac Lounge deals?

    • Be careful some of them have fees. You can get a fee-free one if you are under 30 or 55 plus and retired.

  • -1

so not eligible with cards other than Westpacs

    • +5

Yes it is strange that Westpac won't issue the bonus if you choose to use ANZ or one of their competitors.
I'm currently trying to get Woolworths to let me use my Coles glasswear credits there but no luck so far.

  • how do you activate this?

  • Oh to be a Westpac Card holder

  • Stackable with these deals: 1, 2

Not stackable with the first one as you would have to use a Westpac card to get cashback from eBay/Amazon and can't use the gift card purchased from this deal.

But if you mean you can be eligible to the other two promotions, then that's correct.

  • -1

Used my existing $3 balance to buy the $50 gift card…. it picked it up that I only spent $47!

    • +1

Buy another $5 GC, these linked challenges require full payment with their respective card.

      • Yeah, I bought another $10. I'll spend the money no matter what

    • +1

T&C#2 in the top of the post!
$50 or more must be charged to your eligible Westpac debit or credit card to qualify.
If you only spent $47 on your westpac card then it will only pick up that you spent $47!

      • Lousy terms & conditions waddles off mubbling

    • +1

$50 or more must be charged to your eligible Westpac debit or credit card to qualify.

  • +2

Thanks Op, I think I’ve got about $49 of bonuses in the last week. 🤑

  • "jump through a bunch of hoops and we'll give you a a peanut monkey"

Still getting the same error when trying to pay:

    Payment unsuccessful
Please contact your card issuer and try using a different card in 24 hours.

Have used the card in SB a few times before this for other Westpac deals with no issue. Rep not responding to comment tags or DM.

Locked out of the Westpac app now too for some reason.

    • -1

Legit issues like this with SB and still get negged haha, didn't take long for the first one.

      • Sounds like a bank thing? More so when you're also having issues with the bank app.

        • +1

Perhaps, but it's still linked with SB - I removed all my cards from payment options the other day to try to get Coles PMC added (still couldn't), added the cards back and now this happens.

          • @MiscOzB: I have read before that adding/removing many cards in a short period can result in issues with SB, I'm afraid that may be the case here. Were the purchases you made earlier before you tried adding the prepaid MC?

            • @Hiphopopotamus: They were before. And yeah, seems the adding/removing may have triggered it.

    • +1

Same error for me too. I contacted Westpac. They said they don’t see the transaction at their end. So definitely SB issue. Raised a ticket, but that will take 1-2 days to respond. By that time deal is over.

      • Westpac has taken ages to clear transactions this week. No idea if someone checks the transfers manually or what usually but Westpac -> ING took 2 days, and Westpac -> latitude still not cleared after 3 days.

  • Bought last night at 1 but still waiting for bonus to track

    • Bonus should’ve been completed and tracked instantly once the base cashback has been recorded. Did you charge the minimum of $50 to your Westpac card?

      • Yes. I also pm'ed gotyourback but I haven't got a response yet.
