I'm thinking to get this but few people in the last deal mentioned how loud the fans were…

You deleted your comment as I was replying hehe

Did you test the original fans at all? Were they that bad ?

I have the 360 version. Fans are fine for cooling but they're sooo loud.

          • @Clear: I ended up going with an air cooler. Idling temps under 30; haven't tried it under heavy load yet, but it's silent and doing much better than the stock cooler was, which was running at 50 degrees on boot up

oof. PC Hardware always seems to have whack shipping prices. I bought a CPU the other day which was like a 50 gram package but they charged $20 to ship lol.

I can't tell if we're spoiled or this is a high price for shipping these days.

      • Seems high for a small-medium item. I'd expect this kind of price for bulky or international shipping, not domestic parcel post.

    • Yeah.. deal breaker for me too

  • whats pump noise like?

    • Pump noise is very low, way lower than the fans.

I have the 360mm and I feel like the fans get a bad rap. I think if you're prepared to clean the radiator grill regularly, use a coolant temp curve and have decent case cooling they're fine. If you have an open case with no air filtration and it's right at ear level, you'd probably want to replace them, but only then.

  • Swapped out a Noctua d15 with *a CLC280, and replaced the fans with Arctic p14 fans. Higher idle temps (2-5 degrees), but sustains lower temps for longer when everything gets going (i.e. gpu heat). Overall, pretty happy with the added space in the middle.

    • Funny I did the opposite, I found the ramping up and down an absolute nuisance with mine but know results vary depending on setup. Have found the Noctua to be a gem.
