    • Tomorrow is what I was told instore

      • Appreciate it thanks

Was able to get the $69pm offer for 24mths with 100gb data and a $700gc. Expires tomorrow. Got a $10pm port in credit also. So not bad

First agent I chatted with from the billing team:

Thank you for staying I have successfully applied the port in credit of $20.00 for 24 months as part of port in credit offer here is your order number for your reference 1-xxxxxxxxxxxx. Apart from this is there anything else that may I assist you today ?

He happily applied the same port in credit to two numbers so with $69/pm for each connection for the full term and 2 x $1200 GCs, can't complain at all.

    • How to reach to billing team?
On Telstra app chat hard to figure it out which team I am talking to.

      O would appreciate your response.

    • Great job! I've been having issues galore even after quoting the pre-approval chat reference number I made sure to do before I went in store. Still haven't had the credit applied yet.

I just tried the same and first person in billing team confirmed $20pm, I haven't decided to sign up yet but may try tomorrow depending how I feel!

    • How do you contact a person in the billing team via the Telstra app?

No luck trying for extra monthly credit since I was told that JB already applied an extra $10/month credit.

Still, pretty good deal since I sold the GC for $1000 cash, So I will end up paying about $45/month for 300 Gb/month with 5G uncapped speeds.

    Not bad.

Had to be persistent with them as she told me after signing up that it’s port in customers only that get $1200 gift cards. New customers only get $800 gift card. They had to follow up with the head office as the website stated otherwise. Website has now been updated. $1200 gift card is only for port-in customers now.

Got told the same thing in store and they would not budge. Had to run to woolies to get a new sim to port in as I also wanted to keep my existing telstra number.

Could also NOT get any credit from telstra post signing up with JB via live chat. They will not stack any offers.

Also been having issues with Telstra transferring my number across to cancel my old plan..

Have done this past 2 years but will not be trying this again..

For those getting approval from live chat for any discount, there's a separate Telstra promotion separate from the JB deal.

Good luck for those that were able to get everything done smoothly

      • I was able to get the additional $10.00 per month credit through chat yesterday. This brings it down to $79.00 per month.

Have had some difficulty in gettin my old number transferred across to the new plan, but was able to complete this over the phone today. Will see if this removes the $20 per month credit.

But yeah a bit more effort than porting out for 1 month, and then porting back which is what I have done in the past and will do again in the future

I got confirmation that I would get $20/month with screenshots. But now the agent is saying "you have to contact JBHIFI people because their tools are different and they need to apply the credit". These guys are really trying to squirm out of it.

    • Yes, it's not happening for me as well. I signed up just before the deadline at 5:30pm today, then attempted to negotiate with a chat consultant tonight (supposedly because the international team is more lenient) without mentioning JB Hi Fi beforehand, but was told I am no longer eligible for any further port-in credit.

Previous attempts to ask for port in credit prior to signing up were met with a response directing me to consult with JB Hi Fi staff, probably because I always made the mistake of divulging my intention to sign up for the JB Hi Fi promotion upfront. Now that I have signed up one of my numbers, a quick check from the consultant will reveal that it's already under plan with JB Hi Fi, and that it is no longer their responsibility to apply any port-in credit but JB Hi Fi staff (who will obviously not apply anything more then $10/month). Still, $1200 upfront in gift card credit is not bad.

There's something else not mentioned by anyone else in this discussion, but I found this out from the salesperson who was signing me up. A credit check will actually be performed through Telstra's database, and I was under the impression that it is possible for someone's application to be rejected because of bad credit.

      • Same, tried the late night chat support with no luck. They sniffed out the existing jb credit pretty quickly and indicated that $10 was already applied.

      • Did you contact the person that signed you able originally at jb Hi-Fi and ask them for a credit?

  • Managed to bring it down to $79 at moment, agent asked me to contact again for further $10 after first bill.

    Agent mentioned:

"Thanks for the patience, I can see for the $99 plan you will get $30 discount from our end.

But right now you are eligible only for $20 on your service. IF you wish i can add the discount now. Orelse you can contact us later after your billing cycle. So that we can check and add the $30 discount."

I switched my existing Telstra mobile to new port in plan, seems it may have reset my plan to $99

    • Won’t that make your bill $59/month since JBHIFI is paying $10? If it makes your bill $59/month can you send us screenshots so I can try with Telstra Chat too?

      • What the Telstra agent means is - they can only add a 1 port in credit - so they can add $20 but remove the jb $10 - to have both, looks like they can only do it after the first bill.

Need some help as Telstra are playing hardball can anybody DM me their number that they got the $20 credit on? Be grateful if you can!

    • A good way to get theirs removed haha

I gave up on getting the port in $20 discount .. operator won’t seem to budge at all. Grats to everyone who got in cheap

  • Took me about 8 agents to get the nod for $20 credit before signing up. Then I gave the reference number to an agent after signing up and they said that I shouldn't have been eligible, but since I had it in writing they'd process it.

    • Nice - giving you a $69 plan? (From JB’s $89)

  • No dice on any extra port in credit, tried about 4 agents. I think this particular plan in their system just does not give them an option.

    • Seems like a few others were able to get it- so definitely an option for an agent to apply. Looks like most play hard ball though

    • The option is available for either 12 or 24 months and it's literally a drop down on the service and they can save it and it instantly comes into effect. More than likely they've been told / directed not to do it from their managers?

Managed to get my partner $10 off after the third attempt. Had to ask if I was still within the cooling off period for cancellation. It shows up as a $20 credit from a $99 plan in the contract - so $79 a month
