      I applied for Westpac transaction card as well but no email confirmation, at the end of the application it said someone will contact me but nothing. Don’t even know if my application has been successful…

        Inside the app they provide a card number, CVV and Expiry date so you can use it straight away. Just setup the app and you'll see you digital card details in there

    14km's from nearest town/bus stop, headed into the suburbs today to go into westpac and open an account and low and behold, the westpac building was vacant with a sign, this branch has closed down.

    They partner with Shopback with ? X amount of millions of $ but keep shutting down their branches, 10yrs ago they had a branch in my local town…. Big 4, I give you a single finger on each hand pointed at you.

    Online opening an accnt didn't try, I nearly always fail with online ID issues.

      These banks are taking billions out of the community and giving it to greedy shareholders and executives.

      They're doing this while shutting down branches and offshoring customer service to low income nations and putting Australians out of a job for even more greed.

        We have record levels of unemployment and a labour shortage.

        Most people don't visit branches these days because we have this thing called the internet.

        They appear to also be giving millions back to Shopback customers as well.

      It's fairly recent. Westpac decided to chuck $30mil at shopback to provide rewards to customers, rather than focus heavily an internal program. More info here

      Yes, their choice account. It has a $5 monthly fee waived if you deposit $2000. If you are under 30 or retired and over 55 there are fee free accounts. Opening an account is very easy and if you pass the id check you can get a digital debit card immediately and use these offers. If not, you will have to attend a branch.
