  • To compare: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/742759

    out of stock HP Victus 15L Gaming Desktop PC: R5-5600G, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, RTX 3060 Ti 8GB $1298 + $19.95 Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Harvey Norman

  • +1

    Very different specs
    Techfast:
    Lot better cpu
Dual channel ram (hp likely single)
    Better gpu
    Non proprietary hardware

Intrigued by your statements, I looked things up and by this and that, the size and elegance factor of HP, I'd take the HP from the old deal without second thoughts.

But yeah, HP is $2.5k now, so no comparison at the moment.

      Good deal here.

UserBenchmark is notorious for being a **** source to get comparison info FYI

Cpu has half the l3 cache, slower clocks. and no pcie4 support.
3060ti is just outright weaker than the 3070, particularly at higher resolutions

Hp normally uses a single stick of ram, which impacts performance a lot on ryzen systems
They use their own motherboards and power supplies, so you cant rehouse them or upgrade components in future.

So yes the techfast would be worth it vs the hp.
Down neg all you like, facts are facts.

        • From what I've seen browsing and from the comment above, that 12-14% lower performance (and 13% lower price) absolutely makes me want that HP. A hypothetical HP, because it's much more expensive now.

You might have been negged for something else though, I didn't do it. I appreciate the discussion :)

          • @pizzaguy: Its essentially future ewaste, just like dell and other big company prebuilts

  • If upgrade to 32Gb of RAM, would it be 2x16Gb or 4x8Gb?

    • +1

Hi there, it would be 2x16

  • +1

Any chance of a different case?

  • +11

Nearly $200 more expensive than this deal in August: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/716695

    What's caused the price hike?

    • +1

2nd hand GPU already dumped by a large margin, and ridiculous pricing of 4000 and 7000 series make sellers realize they don't need to cutdown the price of last gen GPU anymore, if not a slight increase

      • +1

Bit ridiculous since the 3000 series came out > 2 years ago. Mate's looking to buy a PC but def wont be sending him this deal. Hopefully TechFast can bring us something with a bit more value :)

        • +2

2 years or 10 years ago doesn't matter, as long as the current gen gpu has such a pricing like that people have to look for the last gen ones. Demand increasing while stock is not produced anymore => you know what happen. Harsh reality that we have to accept

          • @Masticccc: Stock is not produced anymore? There is loads of stock with nvidia and partners. They are greedy and dont want to sell.

            • @[Deactivated]: Loads of stock doesn't mean it's producing right now. They're the surplus during the peak times.

              • @Masticccc: Fair enough. But demand has decreased. Not increased. They don't need to produce anymore of 3xxx because they have an years worth of stock.

                • @[Deactivated]: Demand has decreased? Yes, if you compare to the peak of crypto mining. But compares to 1-2 months ago, before the release of nvidia 4000 series and amd 7000 series, demand is increased due to the HODLers waiting for next gen gpu realize pricing is too shit and have to go back for current gen stock.

                  • @Masticccc: Many holders have ended up with used GPUs. Even jimmy got a GPU. Only demand is from high end gamers. That's not enough to justify price increase when the stock is building up more than the sales. They are just greedy that's all. Creating artificial scarcity.

    • Billions of dollars worth of GPUs are stuck rotting inside warehouses.

      • It says the hike in inventory is related to new products. Would you read that as completed ready to sell items or work in progress goods?

        • That's likely the CFO lying as the inventory build-up has been happening for a long time, but it either means they have too much Ampere or Lovelace, so the difference is somewhat meaningless.

    • Greed that's your answer

  • Any 3060 Ti deals?

  • Hi Luke, any comments on Amd 6700 (non xt) cards?

  • Is this a good deal? should i keep holding?

    • Don't look that tempting. I'm actually disappointed with current deals from techfast and BPC.

    • I think this is enough juice for gaming at 1440p 144hz. 3070 + 5600= Get on it. What more do you want for $1488? Can't build it for that! I'm running a 3070 and I paid $700 for that alone second hand. Prices have dropped hard but for 1440p 144hz I am happy with my 3070. I do have it paired to a 12600kf though.

  • any new year builds coming? Interested in a 3070 and an intel CPU

  • Posting this until I get a satisfactory response from someone at Techfast

I would be EXTREMELY HESITANT ordering from this company

I bought their i5-12400F | RTX 4080 16GB PC on the first of December last year..

It has arrived today (so took 6 weeks door to door) in non-working condition with the GPU clearly poorly installed

Having seen previous good or mixed reviews as a longterm OZB lurker I get the sense this company may have used to be more reliable but they've let their standards slip in light of COVID +/- other factors
Super dissapointing and I guess most relevantly, at least to me the ordeal is NOT worth the small amount of cash saved buying through Techfast when compared to another company that would surely be faster and reliable..

  • Hi spaetzl,

I am sorry to hear that you have received your PC in this condition.
I can assure you that all systems are fully assembled and stress tested before dispatch, so this damage would have almost certainly occurred from transit.

Rest assured, all transit damage is fully covered by the return to base warranty, so if you can reach out to us at [email protected] with your order number, we can look into this for you and get onto a resolution asap.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thanks, Caleb
