A $5 fee on a transaction account is pure BS. On a savings account, where it gets waived if meeting the criteria… I get that - because you get the interest as a "reward" But on a transaction account? Meh. Not having it.

        • its normal with com bank, just deposit 2k, with osko its pretty easy to automate

          • -1

@Mokr: Bit of a challenge for those who've got money being bounced to ING to meet their criteria. Otherwise, you'd need to transfer on payday to one bank and transfer it to another a few days later, and then transfer it back again a few days after that.

            Eh… no.

            • @KangaDrew: That would be all automated.

Otherwise just ask your payroll department to split your paycheck across multiple banks, that's what I did.

              • @ankti231: Yeah, it would automated, but you're bouncing your money around for up to a week (assuming the 203 business day rule) and not everyone can do split payroll unfortunately.

    • 90k FF points for $150 first year fee
      https://www.westpac.com.au/personal-banking/credit-cards/rew…
Just need to open a transaction account and cycle $2k in and out each month to get the $150 annual fee and no monthly fees.

  • Maybe wait until someone say they cant link their card.

Kept getting message cant link the card for my Westpac Mastercard Debit.

    • same but mine says the card is already linked to another account

      • Hey mates, definitely reach out to me with your ShopBack email address, I'm happy to help take a look at what might be the issue here for you.

      • Same here, so i reported it lost and used new instant digital card instead and linked that . But keep in mind that digital card have dynamic CVC that changes 24 hours so once you receive your new card, just link that one. My new card arrived in 2 days. Hope that helps.

  • Thanks GYB

My last transaction with Amazon through Westpac link didn't track.
Also worth to note that Bunnings GC have to be used in 1 transaction. Pretty poor.

    • +1

Also worth to note that Bunnings GC have to be used in 1 transaction. Pretty poor.

Yup. Also says maximum change is $9.95 LOL these guys are nutty as they come.

      • +6

Not sure why Shopback doesn't include the next line in the Bunnings online gift card T&Cs:
        https://www.bunnings.com.au/terms-conditions/online-gift-car…

When redeemed, the gift card must be relinquished to the cashier. Maximum change given in cash is $9.95. Any change required greater than $9.95 will be provided in the form of Bunnings gift cards of the relevant denomination/s.

I've shopped at Bunnings multiple times with gift cards from Shopback, and they give you physical gift cards in addition to any cash change - e.g. spending $8 on a $50 gift card, they will give you 2x $20 physical gift cards and $2 cash in change.

@gotyourback it might be worth adding the extra line of T&Cs to the ones Shopback displays, because it's causing confusion

        • Thanks. I read your comment below.

      • I have nfi why Bunnings/Wesfarmers still does this in 2023

    • +4

      Huh? Never had an issue.
They just give change in Gift cards and cash for anything left under $10

EDIT: Just checked my last receipt, they put the Gift cards I got as change through as a purchase along with the item I was buying and gave me $4.20 in change (as cash).

      • Haven't tried using my gc, just noticed this in the T&C's. Thanks for the inputs.

    • Also worth to note that Bunnings GC have to be used in 1 transaction. Pretty poor.

They also don't give any Flybuys points for a transaction part paid using a GC.
Not sure if they have relaxed this policy in recent days.

    • Yeah i had a feeling this might be the case. They're certainly no Amazon

    • Happy to help with any issues with tracking mate, definitely reach out if you want me to take a look!

  • I managed to link my Westpac credit card. Got the Bunnings gift card and got the challenge completion notification almost immediately.

Edit: Received an email saying that the transaction was successful and cashback tracked.

  • +1

Whoops, don't do what i did and use Shopback credit to purchase. I ended up having to buy 2 gift cards to get the bonus. Silly silly

    • I did the same because it doesn't say anywhere in the app that credit doesn't count towards the challenge unlike non-Westpac challenges. Not happy

      • I mean, its kind of obvious in hindsight though. It is Westpac card specific. Using Shopback credit isn't spending using a Westpac card

Meh i spend shit loads at Bunnings each year, its not going to goto waste

$5 Bonus ($50 Min Spend) JB Hi-Fi Gift Card

    Cheaper at Woolies… 10% off.

    • -1

5 of 50 is 10%, how is Woolies cheaper?

      • -1

        That is for min $50.

If you spend more you will only still get $5, so < 10%

Woolies it 10% off any amount.

        I got $300 worth for $270. Saved $30

  • +1

Can we buy more than 1 bunnings gift card and get multiple $15 cashbacks for each one?

EDIT: NOPE, T&Cs says 1 per account

  • @gotyourback can I buy 2x $50 Bunnings gift cards in one transaction and still qualify? (Because I remember Bunnings doesn't give change above $9.95 and the gift card needs to be used all at once?) The wording "$15 Bonus on a $100 Bunnings Gift Card" makes it sound it like it must be a $100 gift card.

    • It should be fine, since the T&Cs specify $100 or more in one transaction:

Receive $15 bonus Cashback from ShopBack when you spend $100 or more in one single transaction on a Bunnings Warehouse Gift Card via the gift card portal in the ShopBack app using an eligible Westpac card ($100 or more must be charged to your card to qualify)

Also, when you spend less, they just give you a new gift card (e.g. if you have a $50 gift card and spend $10, they will give you 2x $20 gift card as change.

      • Thanks - I wasn't sure because I didn't see the regular Bunnings T&Cs for getting the change via gift card on the Bunnings gift card page on the Shopback app.

    • you can use the giftcard for whatever purchase you want…$100 gift card…purchase something for $15, they give you replacement physical gift cards of $80 value ($50 $20 and $10 say) and the rest as change

  • Jb isn’t as good as the 15% off ultimate cards I stocked up on. Got the Bunnings one though.

  • Got Bunnings but already got $5 off $50 with CBA etc so no can do!

  • +2

thanks, happy with the bonus $15 cashback on top of the 1.5% for the $100 Bunnings card…there is ALWAYS something we need at Bunnings lol

  • Regretting the bunnings gc purchase due to bunnings stupid rules to use it in one go

    • +4

You don't need to buy in one go:
      https://www.bunnings.com.au/terms-conditions/online-gift-car…

When redeemed, the gift card must be relinquished to the cashier. Maximum change given in cash is $9.95. Any change required greater than $9.95 will be provided in the form of Bunnings gift cards of the relevant denomination/s.

So if you spend $10 of a $50 gift card, they will give you 2x $20 gift card as change

      • Brilliant. Some misleading comments here then.

        • Here is a +1 cause I got a bit pissed too, but some members clarified the actual process for us.

      • @highwind - Sorry not clear - do you mean that this e-gift card can be redeemed in-store?
Then how will receive $15 bonus from SB?

        • +2

I've only ever redeemed it in-store. The Bunnings gift card itself is no different from buying a Bunnings e-gift card from any other seller - it's a PDF with some barcodes on them. I normally print out the PDF (there are often difficulties in the staff scanning the barcode when shown on the phone) and take it in-store.

The $15 is not actually directly related to Bunnings - you will get the $15 as a cashback given to you by Shopback into your Shopback account.

  • wish my husband could link the westpac card to his shopback, but you can only link each card to one account, which is a pain, as I linked both our credit cards to my Shopback so can't use them on his…says you can delink but if you do you might have any cashback pending rejected…and as I always have some pending, it is a no there.

    • +1

      thanks for letting us know.

    • +1

Same here, me n my partner got westpack debit cards, my card is not accepting anymore as i used already plenty of times in both accounts when it was allowed long time ago, suddenly they stopped my CBA, westpack and etc cards. Then I started using coles prepaid MasterCard, now they don’t allow anymore. I am stuck now with my partner’s card only. They shouldn’t allow to use first instance at all. Its not fare. First they allow to use same card in both accounts then they banned same card from both accounts.

    • You can delink. gotyourback discussed this a while back. It will not impact on any purchases you have made already. Perhaps send him a message to confirm.

      • ok, just asked him now

  • +1

    Thanks got the Bunnings one

Jb already got too much 15% off TCN/ Ultimate GC that can be used in JB lol

  • +2

When I click See Voucher, I get a black screen with "No Preview available"

Is anyone else having this issue?

    • yes, I have the same thing. .and a little "sign in" in the top right corner…signed into google, but made no difference

    • No issue for me, able to see the voucher in the purchase tab

      • I get the black screen, same as the poster

        • No good here too, it's trying to open some google docs page

    • Same

    • +1

      Hey mate, try this:
      1. Click on "See Voucher", then "Share" button in the top right hand corner to copy the link to clipboard
      2. Open a browser and paste the link to access the PDF

      • that worked, thanks

  • Have had to email support as now i've purchased the voucher it won't display. Only "no preview available" error.

  • Same issue, no preview available.

    • chatbot help suggests to copy the link using the icon in the top right corner and then open in a browser. it worked for me.

      • Hey mate, thats it! Try this:
        1. Click on "See Voucher", then "Share" button in the top right hand corner to copy the link to clipboard
        2. Open a browser and paste the link to access the PDF

  • Is this offer for Westpac customers only or also available to SGB and BOM?

  • Damn, just bought something at bunnings for $120.

  • +1

    Boo ,…Westpac only!

  • Westpac card holders, not all Westpac customers. My home insurance is with Westpac, but I don’t have a card.

  • +1

    Thanks OP.

    Tracked almost instantly. Easy $15.

  • +5

Never again using Shopback. These guys are completely useless. I've been burnt so many times (despite doing everything right). Dozens of hassle free transactions with CR, yet shopback fails 50% of the time. I rarely bother chasing up as I forget. But I just got knocked back on a 99 claim with no real reason other than the usual BS which did not apply to me. YMMV

    • The tracking uses exactly the same technology…

      • +5

Yes. However shopback is dodgy and their support is useless.

    • +1

$99? If this was a cashback from Econnex there's your problem

      • Yea.. what's the story there?

    • +1

I discovered this recently. Not even a screen recording of the entire transaction was sufficient enough to successfully appeal the rejection. I asked why and got a very generic template in response. I'm out.

    • Hey mate, I'm sorry to hear you've not had a good experience here, I'd be more than happy to help out where I can taking a look at why you're having tracking issues or answer any q's you might have, definitely reach out to me here if you'd like me to take a closer look.

      • +1

        PM sent

  • Mine tracked. It's all gone the bunning vouchers. You snooze you lose.

$100 vitual gift card if you buy $5 of stuff in bunnins you'll end up with $50 physical gift card and 2x$20 physical gift cards plus $5 of coins or a note.

Not a big deal. I have a drawer full of gift cards now and pass them to missus to buy stuff at bunnings or use them as gifts to others.

    • Bunnings are all gone?

  • -4

Not worth the effort to sign up for a Westpac card… hopefully this offer will be available again in the future forr non WBC.

  • Just shopped at Bunnings on the weekend!

  • I got a choice westpac account, but got no card that comes with it?

    • Hey mate! From what I can tell, the Westpac Choice accounts should have a Westpac Debit Mastercard attached to it, it may just take a short while to be delivered to you. Definitely take a look and reach out to Westpac with any specific q's there!

  • Hi mate, I did not read carefully T&C's. I bought $100 Bunning gift card with $2 Cashback balance. Can you please help me with 15$ cashback? Thanks

    • +1

I've made that mistake with the 28 degrees deal. Just buy a $10 card and it will go through.

      • Thanks mate. Just did as you suggested.

  • What's are people's experience with bunning delivery? And are these giftcards available for use online?

    • +1

      nope. in store only.

      • Cheers. Saved me some money
