    Is 7-Keto DHEA allowed to be shipped to Australia? I thought it was on the restricted list.

      correct DHEA and derivatives are banned unless you have a letter from a doctor and approval is obtained by the TGA to import.

      It depends on the customs officer (if your unlucky enough to have your package opened) because technically 7-Keto is not listed as restricted.

      RESULTS:
      17-Ketotestosterone (banned)
      3-beta-hydroxyandrost-5-en-17-one (banned)
      but
      7-Keto Acetate (not listed / restricted)
      3-Acetyl-7-oxo-dehydroepiandrosterone (technically the Acetylization at Oxo 7 compound makes if different from the above ingredients)

      So technically although its a metabolite (ie: metabolises into DHEA after passing through the liver) it is not listed as restricted, as alot of vitamins are metabolites of banned substances, like D-Aspartic Acid metabolises into Testosterone etc.

      Like I said if packs gets opened for inspection some customs officers simply see DHEA and remove it, but I have imported other 7-Keto products (iSatori Lean System 7-Keto) from BB.com and it was opened by customs and let through.

    This is a mad deal for getting cheap protein. I have imported Gaspari and Optimum Nutrition 2lb tubs of Protein to Australia about 4 times in the last year and customs either didn't inspect the package or inspected it and allowed it to go through.

    With $3.00 shipping & the $10 discount, each tub of protein comes to about $18. That's about $18 per kg for awesome tasting protein ($90 for 5kg).       Be careful, I know protein with more than 50% egg is not allowed to be imported, and Myofusion which I agree is awesome will get confiscated if pack is opened. Its a stupid rule / law regarding proteins, but I guess your proof that you have to be unlucky to even get your package opened in the first place.

      Also I think OzBargain has a rule about giving out referral links so I was told, you have to clearly state its your referral link like.

        This might be a repeat for those commonly on this site, but I like to give people new to Vita Cost a heads-up on what could happen.

        To try and keep a long story short, I ordered 2 ON 100% whey protein 10lb bags. Oddly enough each were sent seperately in boxes that could have easily contained both for a single shipment. Overall I waited approx. 2 months before the 2nd package arrived. Both boxes crushed and having signs of water/damp exposure. French postage stickers on the boxes translated to "…treated as abandoned…". German stickers on the boxes translated to something like "does not comply with EU customs". What they were doing going through Europe, I'll never know.

        The protein powder, luckily, was still usable but the unreasonable delay I experienced, as well as the 'brush off' VitaCost gave me with their lip-service, i.e. "… we're sorry you haven't received it… hope it comes soon…" has prevented me ever ordering through them again. Beware of their lost-in-transit guarantee. You won't get all your money back and they will make you 'jump through a few hoops' to get it.

        I feel obliged to let others here in Aus know about this. At least they will be aware of how things may go wrong and how badly, regardless of whether they choose to go ahead with the order or not.

          It wasn't an Australian customs problem. It got through Aus customs without incident.

      Just got their email on the weekend (after I just ordered krill oil for $10.99 shipping) that they have a new shipping rate for Aus for $2.99. That leaves more money for shopping after using their $10 voucher from friends that I have referred.

      I found their Vitacost Krill Oil 1000mg with 300 capsules for $29 the cheapest !! Cheapest from My Chemist during their Sale was $29 for 30 capsules !!!

    My biggest discovery on Vitacost was Nature's Way Alive multi vitamin with dozens of fruit and vegetable extracts for those who could not be bothered to drink and eat all the recommended phytonutrients (acai berry, goji berry, promegranate, green leafy vegetables etc.) for $21.71 for 180 tablets. Definitely cheaper than drinking the immunity blend at Just Juice !!! Been taking these for the past 2 months and I cannot scientifically say it works but think I just owe it to myself at least. Even if it only works psychologically, it's worth it !!!
