Xbox Series X Console $749 Delivered @ Microsoft

1150

Xbox Series X is back in stock on the Microsoft website. However they are forcing an accessory purchase to go with the purchase. I have found a work around so that the console is obtainable for $749 delivered without any accessory purchase through this link

I can get $150 off this purchase because I have the microsoft store offer saved to my amex card but I still don't think that makes buying this worth it

    • Wait for $200 off

      • Don't know that $200 off will come :/

        • It might, maybe spend $1000 get $200 off. Haha

          • @lilkid28: Or maybe spend $1000 get $300 off. LOL. We can always hope!

            • @jay889344: No difference to the current Amex dral then.. just need to buy on 2 separate Amex cards.. and whoever has 1 Amex card likely has 1-4 supplementary cards on same account.. the big question is will we get a better Amex cashback on Microsoft after the current one ends.

  • The workaround is nice but not a huge deal if you didn't use it.

Microsoft's price is competitive, meaning it's the same as everyone else really. So if you need an extra controller anyway, the bundle is not exactly a major hassle.
Big W and Amazon Au are selling the controller for $10 less…so that's about all you save if you don't need an extra controller.

    • Bundling an extra controller is not my definition of competitive

      • I meant the prices. Their prices are exactly the same as almost everywhere else. I found two places cheaper by $10 for the controller.

So for me the bundle really isn't an issue. I won't be playing solo a lot of the ttime The gaming bundles for me are a bigger problem than the accessory bundle. The way I see it, saves me a trip to BigW.

  • Can gamepass ultimate be shared with other users on the same console? Will they be able to play all the GPU games and play online earn their own achivements etc?

    Thanks.

    • +1

We have a few people in our house who use the xbox and only 1 GPU membership. Each have different combinations of games installed and this has not been a problem for achievements etc.

    • +4

Game pass ultimate can be shared with any user on a main / home Xbox. Which is how it should be setup by default.

If you have a second Xbox the account owning Game Pass Ultimate can play at the same time as the main Xbox. PlayStation 5 works the same way too.

Xbox has the added ability that on the second Xbox (or any other Xbox that isn't the main one), where you can use an account other than the Game Pass Ultimate account to play so long as you are logged into it at the same time.

ie. Boot up the other Xbox. Sign in to the account with game pass ultimate. Then sign in to the account that you want to play in and it has access to the stuff while that account is signed in. This is how I have both my kids playing using my games and subscription without using my account to play in. It means I can't play on my Xbox at the time or it signs them out. But they can play together on their Xboxes with me only having to purchase things once.

Achievements, gamer score and saves apply to the account that is being played in at the time.

I have 2 amex offers but i wont be buying this lol

    • +2

I would if I had time to play games :(

I'm happy to buy for someone else and save them $150

  • +1

Some people have stated issues with paying with Microsoft credit but I was able to pay $740 through credit and it correctly charged the remaining $9 to the card I specified - your mileage may vary though

    • +1

I had no issue buying XBX with Microsoft credit roughly a year ago

  • +2

Kudos to MS for keeping prices unchanged since the launch date.

  • Where is the option on the Microsoft (not Xbox) store to pay with credit? Does it only appear if you have credit on your account? Want to make sure I can use credit before I go and buy gift cards.

  • My xbox one x has been working fine. Is there any point in me updating to this? I have the amex credit. So, it will actually cost me $599. And, I think I can sell the old xbox for $250. So, a $249 upgrade. I play only one hour per month, that’s why I am hesitant.

The amex credit expires in few weeks. Need to make the decision quick.

Do it. Give yourself a Christmas/Early birthday present. Sell the old console so it's not that bad on the pocket or alternatively give it to a kid in your family as a Christmas present. They will remember this for the rest of their live. Backward compatibility means you will be able to retain most of your old games too.

  • +1

Load times will be much faster on the new console.
Since you only get an hour to play, you should spend as much of your time actually playing rather than wasting it on load times.

    • Thanks. Ordered now.

    • was the old xbox series X slow at loading?

      • The Xbox One X did not have a SSD drive, so yes, it has horrible load times compared to PCs and consoles with SSD drives.

  • +1

    If only I had a spare $675…… 🙄

    • I’ll give you 675 in Vietnamese dong

      • You might need that on your next visit to Christmas island.

  • The Amex $150 off (20% discount on RRP), which I confirmed my card does have access to, is tempting me but I’m still finding it hard to justify since I bought the Series S less than 2 years ago (albeit at 15% off thanks to eBay Plus trial and Big W), S resale value doesn’t seem too flash, and I’m probably still a ‘casual gamer’ in terms of how often I use it (though have been increasing my usage in recent months). But I do have a 4K TV…

    • +1

unless you have a HDMI 2.1 (4k/120hz) and low input lag cabable TV, you won't notice a difference getting Xbox X, keep Xbox S

I had to upgrade my TV ($1k) to get full benefits of Xbox X. but the results make me super happy. no need to upgrade for years to come

but if your TV has the right capabilities, and you like playing FPS games, get the X and you will feel the difference

      • Now you tell me—I talked myself into getting it a couple of days ago :)

Guess that makes upgrading my TV next year even more likely now. I was already looking at getting a larger size, but will make sure to factor in the HDMI 2.1 aspect in the selection process as well now. Thanks!

In the meantime, yeah sounds like I’ll be limited in terms of getting ultimate performance out of the X: https://www.techradar.com/news/hdmi-on-xbox-series-x

        • there were OLED 55” deals flying about for black friday, sure they'll come back for boxing Day, around $1600-1700

me I don't know, I couldn't convince myself on OLED and chose to get a well priced and good RTINGS tested 55" Samsung TV with loyalty discount for $1k. does all I need, 4k/120hz included, and looks great

  • Already delivered, Microsoft don't mess about.

    • When did you order?

      • I got mine end of November. ordered on Tuesday afternoon, shipped Thursday, delivered Friday (Melbourne metro)

  • +2

To anyone curious they use DHL Express to deliver the consoles. When I ordered which was on a Friday I got it delivered on Sunday so 2 days (DHL Express delivers on Weekends).

Probably the best way to get the console is directly from Microsoft.

    Nice work

  • +1

    Workaround no longer working?

    • Yeah looks like it. This workaround link is no more, it has ceased to be, it’s expired, etc. This is an ex workaround.

Well done to OP for finding it in the first place—didn’t want any of the accessories so the higher bundle price would’ve turned me off.

  • Luckily i had added it to cart yesterday and today after Microsoft closed this loophole i still had it in my cart so pulled the trigger!!!

  • still working for me? got Xbox X sitting in my cart ready to checkout, no accessories

not gonna buy tho since I got one end of Nov

  • Any way to add Xbox series X itself to cart without accessory? Hate these forced bundles…

  • why oh why did I wait too long, should have grabbed this with my amex deal :(

    • +1

      Back working again

  • +2

Just bought for $749 without a bundle on AMEX deal so $599 after amex rebate, so no more forced bundles!

  • +1

Shoutout to @lime111 who alerted me to this deal being back on! Grabbed one and paid only $588 after Amex cashback and cashrewards! Super stoked, probably the best price I could hope to pay for a Series X in 2022 :)

  • Yep no more bundle required….. now to go the X or the S? And M$ may have the S down to $399 soon to match a few other stores (Target, HN etc)

    • Bought from Microsoft on a Monday morning, arrived on a Tuesday morning, and Im not metro. Love the turnaround…. and the Series X, soooo much faster and better than the Xbone

  • so i bought one for a user on here, hmm, what to give them as a proof of purchase incase of warranty issues?

  • Out of stock now unfortunately :(
