Put down the pitchfork. Hear me out. You're on Game Pass, anyway.

It's like Netflix but with games, it's absolutely perfect for casual gamers.
Ps. Plus isn't the same?
@mfu: Plus all of the Microsoft owned studios have their games on there permanently (ABK still incoming) with all their new release games available Day 1 (plus occasionally others like Stalker 2).
@mfu: I'm sorry but what even is this. Any one with a PS Plus subscription would know they have access to the games catalogue depending on their level of subscription… It's literally the difference between tiers.
And the Xbox Game Pass is way more superior than the PS Plus meager offering. And I say this as someone who hasn't owned an Xbox since the OG one and has owned every PS console…
@Ruddaga: People will easily triggered if it related to their fav console. I didn't even favor sony over microsoft. I just point out that not many people know about ps plus catalogue.
I also own PS5 and Xbox series X since it release, and also PC. Most of the time when the game available in xbox pass, it also available on PC (except forza). Thats why I said, it defeat the purpose of owning the console.
@mfu: I mean I already said PS5 is my fave console of choice….
Man really is no point trying to bother with you is there lad? Lol
it also available on PC (except forza)
This wrong, All Xbox game studios games are on Gamepass PC and Xbox Day 1.
https://www.xbox.com/en-AU/xbox-game-pass/play-day-one
Literally says
"Play Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and more on day one with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass."@Axelstrife: Nope, forza was a couple days late coming to game pass PC. It was my fav game during lockdown, bought a racing rig just to play it. I remember could not find it on xbox pass for PC, I end up playing state of decay when I was too lazy to tun on my xbox.
@mfu: Was there for me.
@Axelstrife: Yep, I agree, it was definitely there for me on day 1 also!
So, you pay money and still get adverts?
What a bad opinion lol
For average Joe - you got hundreds of games for free. Including MS Flight Simulator 2024, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Forza and many many others.
If you want just couple of games and you use them to full potential - then meh… But if you like to try games, play them for a while and then try another one - Gamepass is excellent. It's nice not having to think about what to play. There's always something good and most MS first party games are on there. Some Activision games are still missing though.
I've had playstations forever, no decent games on PS5, bought an Xbox series X after I saw flight simulator on it, then got game pass.
New games that are actually good on game pass. My son uses my account on his ROG Ally, and now i use game pass on my fire tv stick at work (I work FIFO, so in my room, not in work time). It's well worth the money for me. Plus, i got game pass for 12 dollars a month with cd2keys via eneba.
Im a casual gamer and it saves me paying $80 for a game. If there is one on gamepass that i want to play, ill sign up for a month to play (on PC). Saves money.
Ill be honest thought im just constantly subbed. But definitely worth the cheap deals when it comes up.
meh…
Does microsoft pricematch to get amex cashback
Not worth it, at that price, wait until you can get one with a disc drive or with a game.
Digital version for $600+? the disc version was $460 3 weeks ago from the BF cashback deal
Don't think that price is ever coming back.
Wait for 30% to 35% cashback for the Woolworth market, then buy from Big W or Gamesmen.
I don't care about the disc version with Game Pass, but damn, $460, really? I must have been sleeping :(
Thanks. Hopefully this returns :)
@SimAus007: I bought from the 35% cashback deal cashback tracked. Hopefully, I will get it, this is the only risk.
Guess no one watches Bluray anymore?
I still do, very handy
Other than the free copy of the lego movie that came with my One S i never really even started watching BR.
I do, need to wait on a sweet deal for disc version :(
Was that a One X?
Yes. I counted one X in that sentence.
That was the Xbox One X.
This is the Xbox Series X.MS are idiots or did this on purpose
please pass the butter - https://youtu.be/p1jzdSzGHnA
Given the series X came out in 2020 we can be pretty certain you didn't buy one 7 years ago.
And I bought a PS1 back in the day for $250, if we're comparing the price of other consoles.
Because you’re confused about the different Xbox versions. You bought a different one
This perfectly summarises the terrible naming scheme of the Xbox…
Wait i thought series x had disc drives
White = no disc
Black = disc
Yeah nah im good.
Definitely needs a console wrap.
What a waste of money. Xbox is going third party.
No point anymore to buy Xbox. Just get yourself a PlayStation 5 and get the best of both worlds.Xbox is going third party.
Microsoft selling it?
Nah, they are going to release many of their games on Playstation, switch, and naturally PC. There's rumours though that Xbox will have its on Operating System like Steam does, but Steam catalogue will be available on Xbox consoles. Interesting times ahead.
If this were to happen, it's not happening soon. Meanwhile Im sitting here playing Indiana Jones on Xbox and its not released on PS5 yet. There are still always going to be advantages on playing Xbox owned games on Xbox over PS5
@MambaZone: Next Gen it will happen, and handhelds. A collaboration with Xbox and steam is a no brainer. I have a series X and no intention of buying a PlayStation.
That would be great.
More options and not needing to bother keeping a gaming rug up to date.
If it had a disc I would say price is ok. But digital and 6 hundo plus no thanks
I went and last week put the Series X 1TB disc console from Target for $729 on layby. Sure it's $100 more but i can play my 1080p and 4K blu-ray movies on it. As in doubles as a 4K blu-ray player.
the same I went and last week put the Series X 1TB disc console from Target for $729 on layby
$729 is a terrible price. Wait for a proper discount, especially since you are putting it on layby anyway. E.g. the next Woolworths marketplace 30-35% cashback deal
đź’Ż I remember paying just over 5 hundo for my series x over 2 years ago
How to sell a console…. I know add a new colour! Sales skyrocket
Well. Add a new colour and remove one of the most best features of it as in an actual disc drive.
If digital games were the same price as new games on sale in shops and used games I wouldn't mind so much.
They haven't removed the drive, because both versions are sold alongside each other, so you have a choice. Many of us don't use discs, for those that do, this clearly isn't aimed at them :)
got my normal disc black series X in Dec 2022, for $749 - $150 Amex cashback
those were the days
i remember I used 15% off gift cards from supermarket, to buy 10% off xbox gift card from JB. end up with 23.5% off, those time when wicked wednesday or 10% apply to gift card. that was 2021, feels like yesterday. the weird thing i realised was by that time shopback or cashrewards has 20% cashback of those xbox gift card can be used to buy hardware, that is basicly 20% off anything including the xsx, of course you need to beat the bots.
This would have made more sense back when you could get three years of Game Pass Ultimate for just $120.
Bonus unpopular opinion: Game Pass Ultimate isn’t as amazing a deal as it’s hyped up to be if you only have time to play two or three games a year. It’s fantastic for kids or those without kids, but for others, its value might not justify the cost.
Not unpopular at all. Like any service, it's only worth it, if you use it and get value out of it.
If you play online, you're already dropping $80-90. For the price of 2 games extra you have GPU at RRP. If you look at places like eneba, GPU can be had for under $150.
I think Foxtel is criminal at $1200 p/yr but over one million subscribers disagree with me and must get value from it.
Having said that, I wouldn't pay $629 for the digital XBSX, as there is so much value in the used disc game market.
MS Rewards so you never pay for it. Though its gotten far more challenging, so after last stack, I may be facing into paying for it in about 1.5 years.
Hopefully better deals in the Boxing Day sales. Series S deals have also been lacking this year.
Went down to $350 last Boxing Day.
The Xbox is my platform of choice, I'm more embedded in their ecosystem compared to Sony. Which is funny as I was Sony all the way from 96 - 2006 and would have continued to be if the PS3 didn't get delayed here. Wound up getting an Xbox 360 for free and thus the Xbox addiction was born. Still got a PS3 and PS4 in that time but they were barely used (once a month or every 6 weeks or so while the 360/Xbox One were used virtually every day).
While I've played and liked Sony exclusive titles… they aren't the be all end all for me - I'm usually playing multi platform titles across all systems (Monday night Rocket League on Xbox, Tuesday night Rocket League pc, Wednesday night Rocket League Nintendo Switch etc).
I do like the PS Catalog
But I've gotten more value from Game Pass over the years. This is worth $500 at best.
They might get more bites of the cherry if things were cheaper ($499?). EB have a 1tb Series S for $549, while the 512gb Series S is $499 (which should be $399 imo but inflation etc).
Is it right that Game Pass Cloud Gaming is 1080P? So if you stream via cloud you don’t get the benefit and you’d have to download each game?
It’s 1080p only.
Sad there are no Boxing Day deals. Anyone have any idea when we might see a decent discount on an Xbox?
Yeah what's the fuss about game pass? I hear people wanting to ditch the playstation for xbox because of this.
