    Surprised there are 6600XTs still around, I thought they'd have been cleared and replaced by the 6650XTs by now.

  • Whats the difference?

    • +2

      6650XT is clocked slightly higher, no other difference. Maybe 5% more fps. Basically a refresh.

      • This seems like a good buy then

  • +17

    has to drop another $51 to be considered a real deal, not a "GPU shortage 100% inflated then drop 80% deal".

    (credits to highmargin for the table below)
    GPU Price
    6600 $299.00
    6600 XT $349.00
    6700 $429.15
    6700 XT $532.95
    6750 XT $595.00
    6800 $670.55
    6800 XT $760.75
    6900 XT $908.78
    6950 XT $1079.34

    • +2

      6600xt hasn’t been $349 for a good chunk, I think we’ve reached a price wall

      • +7

        Looks like it. Too many people buying at those prices. Really unfortunate. Makes my life "harder", as I will have to wait longer till it reaches my price point. GT730 ftw🙈

    • +4

      6600XT at $349 was a great buy, at least if you're buying now the two-game promo helps soften the blow

      • +1

        I personally am looking forward to dead island 2, and I'm willing to try callisto protocol so I guess it does soften the blow by a small amount, I've realized earlier at the mwave deal that we've hit a wall with the 6600 XT's pricing so snatched it up before I regretted it :)

    • +3

      I agree 6600XT/6650XT should be $350 (its sometimes ~US$220 newegg etc), we are getting ripped here.

      • +1

        Get ripped on a lot of things here,cars are a great example.

      • +2

        Our BF deals were absolutely shocking compared to what the Americans got.

        • +2

          Always, did seem worse this year than previous though

        • I didn’t see any graphics card deals in the US that I’d say were any better than here TBH.

    • +2

      I was monitoring prices daily for a couple of weeks in mid-Nov across both PCPartPicker (covers Amazon and stores) and legit eBay store listings for 2 or 3 fan models.

      I ended up buying a 6750 XT 12GB for $599.

      6700 10GB was available for $479 and 6650 XT 8GB for $422.
      They're both better value in terms of cost per FPS, but when factoring in total system cost it was even for me. So I went for more VRAM and more performance to get more life out of it.

      • Was this the Sapphire Pulse model? I got one too..hoping the two fans is enough cooling

        • +2

          Yea I got the Pulse.
          I'm sure it'll be fine. The fans are only half the equation, other half is the cooler, which looks well built. Slightly longer, wider and thicker than the 6700/6700XT Pulse and with more heat pipes. In fact it's the lowest-spec Pulse card to go beyond 120mm width and use sideways fin stacks with loads of longways heat pipes.
          6800 and up they do throw in the 3rd fan, but there's a lot more cooler to cool and a higher TDP.
          If you have a modern case you can always chuck in a bottom intake fan or 2 pointing directly at the GPU which makes a big difference.

          In case you're curious, here's the specs on the various Pulse coolers:
          2x fan, longways fins:
          * 6500XT = 194x107x40
          * 6600 = 193x120x40
          * 6600XT/6650XT = 240x120x45
          * 6700/6700XT = 260x120x49
          2x fans, sideways fins:
          * 6750XT = 280x123x51
          3x fan, sideways fins:
          * 6800 = 303x127x54
          * 6800XT = 313x135x54

          They do a great job of scaling the cooler volume to the GPU's TDP.

          • @Viper8: Thanks for the info, as a beginner I found shopping for parts a bit overwhelming lol.

            Have a Lian Li Lancool II Mesh Performance case so will def look at upgrading the fan setup. Also when I upgrade in the future I plan to donate my parts to my gf's itx NR200 build, so thought the shorter cards would be a good idea. Hope it works out haha

    The retailers clearly have a lot of stock at Mining Boom wholesale prices that they're just not willing to move on. They'd rather them take up warehouse space than make any effort to move them on, because they know they're the only game in town if Amazon isn't willing to make a move here.

    And yes, I'm taking into account the exchange rate differences here.

    • +1

      Its a lack of competition. What else are we going to buy around the $350-400 mark?

      • +1

        Not much. Used 3060 (with some warranty left on it)?

        So annoying so many miners are still not dumping their cards…

      • +1

        A 6700 for $29 more :)

        Thing is, I was prepared to buy 2 PCs this black friday, but the lack of GPU deals meant I just got 1. The other option is to vote with your feet, or buy an Xbox!

      • +1

        I bought a $350 strix 6700xt used. Wanted to wait for sub $300 but the lack of deals lately has kept the used prices up. The 6700xt competes more closely with a 3070, so only grab a used 3060 if you need an nvidia card

    • +1

      Evil bastards!

  • +2

    See these on marketplace nowadays for around $250.

  • +1

    I have the 6600 xt since launch I am waiting for the next gen cards to come out which is soon.

  • Someone please convince me not to buy this:

    https://www.umart.com.au/product/asrock-radeon-rx-6600-chall…

    • 6600XT is a lot faster, I could not bring myself to purchase a 6600 level card in 2022.

      • I read XT is 10-15% faster

        $335 + 15% = $385 so 6600 still better value?

        I guess this XT is OC so might bring it in line

        • +3

          I think when your that low down the pole, it's not the % gains, it's making sure you can get above 60/75 fps for the games you play or will want to play.

  • 6600XT is good for 1080p.

    I bought one back in earlier this year when the crypto market crash lead to a RRP 6600XT.

    I wish I pulled the trigger sooner.

    • +1

      TechSpot's 12 game benchmark average for 1440p on Max/Ultra/High returns FPS average of 87 and 1% lows of 72. This GPU is clearly good for 1440p.

      And if anyone is going to reply "but 120Hz + monitors" well yes, but then you play with low-medium settings if you're after a competitive edge in multiplayer, as opposed to an immerse/realistic open-world experience which is perfectly fine at 60 FPS.

      • People say it's a 1080p card because it scales worse with higher res textures due to limited memory (and pci-e?) bandwidth. To illustrate the meaningless of looking at absolute values, I not only play 1440p games on mine, but also some 8K games (downscaled to 1440). Naturally i'm only able to do this with certain older games.

  • Anyone able to make an order on this GPU? I'm not sure how to do the backorder..

    Thanks

  • you know damn well the stores have way way more stock just gathering dust because they're waiting for the next crypto boom to make up for that supplier buying cost.

    • More like they don't want to take a bath on their inflated wholesale cost.

  • Back in stock.

    • Thanks, have updated post

  • This or $299 RX 6600 for minecraft 1080P?

  • Mwave have added this deal again

  • Debating on whether to upgrade from a rx6600 to this or just stick with what I have…

    • 1080p? Stick too what you have
