Bendigo Bank Ready Credit Card

Seems they just released a new credit card to compete with the likes of Latitude 28 Degrees and the Bankwest Zero Platinum, but with lower credit limit requirements and a few more perks.

  • Bendigo Bank support joint credit card holders (one of the few banks that do this)
    https://www.finder.com.au/joint-account-credit-cards

  • 0% Interest for 18 months (then 19.99% P.A with 55 days interest free) Update 8 March 2023: Now 55 days interest free

  • 0% International Fee
  • $0 Yearly Fee
  • $0 Additional Card Holder Fee
  • 90 Days Travel Insurance
  • Extended Warranty on purchases
  • Purchase Protection on purchases
  • $3000 minimum credit limit

Might be good for people looking to go on overseas holidays over the xmas/ new year period and beyond.
Or for those wanting a credit card under a joint name with a partner.

Bendigo Bank is also considered an 'ethical bank' with no investments in fossil fuel's according to Market Force:

        • Great post 👍

        • Ahh thank you for the link.

Anyone know which other credit card that has $0 international AND no fees for cash advance if I put my money in credit or position balance?

@surat: As suggested from modsec802, it's generally better to use a debit card with zero fx fees to withdraw cash from ATM. There are many like Ubank, Macquarie bank, UP bank, Citibank etc, that are quick and easy to get - there's a wiki somewhere here on that.

Also note that the bank won't held liable on your surplus fund in your credit card.

  • i just got rejected for this after 24 hours even though my income level is high enough and have a 'good' credit rating (according to my equifax report)
i called them up to ask why and they told me it was because i have applied for to many credit cards recently
I pushed them pretty hard and said i have never defaulted on any loans or credit, have good income, plenty of savings but they still said there was nothing they could do…
I actually only have 1 other credit card open at the moment too
very interesting , looks like i will have to take a break from churning and burning for a while!
keen to hear how others went applying for this…

    • How many did you open/close in the last 3-6 months if I may ask? And when did you open the current card you've got?

      • +1

opened 4 in the last 6 months and closed 3 (1 is open) and the current one that is open i have had since October

        • Thank you for sharing! I was doing some observations on my credit score for a while and will stick to the "1 card in no less than 3 months" formula for myself. I've literally seen a "Credit Cards opened in the last 90 days" row on my credit file somewhere, so I think that's the minimum safe period. I opened a few within 3 months period before Christmas and my score got quite a hit, still restoring it gradually

@goodfella: yeah think i will wait until around march before i try and start churning and burning again!

Shitty algorithm if it doesn't take into account the cards closed.
If I close 2 and open 2 is shouldn't affect the score as much as it does unfortunately. :(
Equifax sucks, never had issues with Experian.

    • In the US they kinda penalise you for churning; no point in giving you a new card if you're going to close it anyway after a few months.
I think that's making its way here too.

Also, I don't think the actual score issued by the credit body matters as much. Each bank has its own metric they derive from your history events.

For those with Bankwest Zero Platinum credit card, is this good to switch to for the better domestic/international Travel Insurance, Extended Warranty, Purchase Protection ?

    • Keen to know too

So how's the experience of those who got this card so far?

Time to revisit this after the Latitude data breach!
