Im driving q350 using wxa50, does a good job
I can't even turn the volume to 50% on my Rotel a10 (40w amp) without it being too loud. I think a quality 20w amp would already suffice
Driving a pair of these with a $300 smsl a300 for home office setup… sounds great.
I would get these had I not purchased a pair of wharfedale 225s for $415ish a while back - although I fear that these would pale in comparison
I actually just sold my wharfedale diamond 220's just today after getting these. These pretty much outshine the wharfedales in every way.
Damn, really? Oh well.
Treble is a lot more crisp and detailed. There's quite a bit more bass and it extends further as well - regardless of what the measurements say.
The bass is so tight and controlled that i've now gotta get rid of my crappy jamo sub 200 since it makes the bass performance worse - even for movies.
The wharfedales are good speakers at their proper price point but in aus they're literally double the cost. And they can't compete in this segment.
@Voldemorts Flat Nose: Oh yeah? I'm sure they sound good. I saw the classifieds on some forum a couple of month back some guy was selling the Meta meterial version of these used for $900ish..
@BargainHunterJohnnyB: That's probably for the LS50 model since the Q series doesn't have that. $900 for the metas is a steal tho
@BargainHunterJohnnyB: That's cheap
I have listened to both, and I'd choose your Wharfedale's. Kefs are too bright for my aging ears.
I'd think they're both quite good.
KEF….always quality
I have the Q350s and although it's my opinion, I am very happy about the build quality, aesthetics, and sound quality of these. I'm running these on a AV receiver but will probs switch to a 2.1 DAC/AMP with a sub soon.
Sub will make a massive difference
Working on it D: Any recommendations? I've been looking on FB marketplace and Gumtree and currently trying to negotiate a Velodyne Impact 12
Can these be used as desktop speakers
Sure if you have room on your desk. I'm using bw 685's which are about the same size.
you'll want a decent amp to power them, won't be any good if not
How would these compare to Q Acoustics 3010's?
How do you rate Kef? I hear they can be difficult to drive. Meaning more expensive amps.
