The Mummy (4k Ultra HD) $6.65 + Delivery ($0 C&C/In-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

100

Not much time left to get this before JB's Black Friday deals end, but if you had a tenner burning a hole in your pocket and you still wanted change afterwards, you could do worse than this.

Sure, this is the Tom Cruise vehicle, not the far, far more entertaining one starring Brendan Fraser. The attempt to start the "Dark Universe" franchise based on classic Universal monsters which, thanks to this movie flopping abysmally, went no further. I can't imagine ever needing to see this movie again. But if you haven't seen it, you could pay a lot more than seven bucks for a lot less entertainment for the evening, and if you hate it you can wrap it and give it to someone for Christmas. Everybody wins!

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2022

Hmm I actually liked most of it, though the actual mummy was probably the most disappointing part.

I liked the addition of Crowe as Jekyll and Hyde, probably acting as an overseer of the follow up DP movies if they ever happened. And I liked the slightly funny tone of the guy who gets killed/cursed as a zombie that only Cruise can see.. I don't know, it was different sure, but I didn't mind all that.

But yeah the actual mummy part was not that interesting or exciting.

I heard that the Mummy and Cruise use similar skin embalming techniques

  • I was disappointed this film had no actual mothers in it 😩

    False advertising.

  • It's morbin time
