Cheers, was tossing up between this and the Belkin 65W.

    • Which one is better? Anker or Belkin ?

      • +5

        Both are reputable.

The Belkin is shorter, and may or may not be a bit more compact overall (no official measurements on the Belkin), but the Anker has an extra USB-A port for flexibility.

The Belkin is basically the same price with JB pricematch and perks voucher (but I'm too lazy, so this extra Anker discount pushed me over the edge! lol)

        • Nice to know. Thanks!

      • +5

This one is currently way cheaper and has extra usb A port? But some reviewers didn't like size/aesthetics of it.

Both are likely fairly good as neither of them are Heymix 😊

        • +1

The Belkin is $48 with JB pricematch and petks voucher. This requires eBay Plus. I'd call it same same, just different requirements for the chraper price.

Both are $58-$60 if you dont have perks / eBay Plus.

(I have eBay Plus, but not Perks, so went with this!) :)

        • I've about the powerboards made by Heymix being poorly built and being below par. Haven't read about issues with their USB chargers though. Can someone highlight the issues please

      • +2

If size is a concern, Belkin's dimensions from the last post:

        Weight = 107g
        Dimensions = 59mm x 39mm x 40mm .. excluding the AU prongs

        • +1

Just for completeness, the AU version of the Anker 735 is roughly 74mm x 38mm x 38mm at it's widest points (including where it flares out near the prongs), excluding the AU prongs themselves. The main body is much narrower though, at about 29mm (the main block of the charger, excluding the flared section at the prongs, is about 65mm x 29mm x 38mm, which must be where the official measurements are from - they are probably measuring the USA version, that doesnt have the flared section at the prongs).

So yeah, quite a bit longer, but also much narrower for the most part. So compactness is much of a muchness, I'd say.

Weighs 128g according to my scales, so the Anker is definitely heavier.

Anker, 1000 times Anker. IDK what the quality of Belkin is like with these particular products, but Belkin is a shockingly terrible brand in my experience (and I support SMB's with tech like Belkin make for over a decade, I threw a lot of dodgy Belkin crap in the bin 'cause they caused 10x the cost in fixes than the item cost in the first place). I avoid them hard.

When it comes to USB, there are hundreds of brands out there that make USB peripherals, there are about four that I trust to actually make reliable devices that are just going to work day in and day out, without having to reset them, reboot computers or just plain throw away 'cause they've burnt out. Anker is one of those - I've imported a lot of Anker stuff from the USA at significant cost to comparable products available locally because there has been no viable alternative, and I've never regretted it.

    Belkin.

Eufy news doesn't paint them or Anker in a good light

    • +1

      what Eufy news?

      • +5

Spoorman is concerned that your Anker 65W GaN charger will leak your security feed to the interwebs

    • +3

The Eufy thing is a disgrace. Individuals and companies have been sh*tcanned/cancelled for much less.

      • Do tell more about this

        • +4

These two links should get you started:

          https://youtu.be/qOjiCbxP5Lc

          https://www.reddit.com/r/EufyCam/comments/z397hp/tech_youtub…

The tl;dr? Eufy/Anker market their cameras as being the "no cloud" choice for privacy-minded individuals. They've been busted by a security researcher who shows all sorts of images are uploaded to their servers in China and, perhaps more alarmingly, facial detection data is being shared between accounts.

        • +2

If you're time poor, a number of tech YouTube channels are starting to cover it once they accept that Anker are being grubs and are are prepared to cut them loose for future sponsorship revenue.

Example (jump to 27:16 if this link does take you there automatically):

D*mn. I have Eufy smart scales. Should I be concerned about my BMI being shared with the CCP?

      • Your scales might start talking with your fridge and decided to stop running the freezer to make sure you don't eat those dumplings!

  • looks like 1 per customer

  • Thanks Op!

  • When you remove the country adaptor, what connection does it have?

    • +1

Don’t think it’s removable for this model.

  • Unlike the Baseus, I assume this Anker model has the correct AU plug with insulated pins?

    • how do i check this?

      • +6

Yes.I have one. It has correct AU plug with insulated pins.

    • I used to see this on the Anker Australia website, so it should be AU compliant

  • If you use this on holiday in Europe with a standard adaptor do you still get the same wattage for charging?

    • +1

      Yes

  • If I understand correctly, this can replace my current laptop charger, which is rated at 65W, as long as the laptop is the only thing plugged in at the time?

I've previously had issues with a dock that didn't have enough juice to operate and charge the laptop, so mindful of having the same issue again.

    • +1

Correct. Will do the 65w with a single device connected. Check the diagram in the description for the 'Charging Guide' to get the exact power delivery to each port per scenario.

  • what happens if you use this 65w charger for 30w pd charging device? can the device handles it?

    • +2

Yeah the device will be fine. Think of it as the device drawing 30w from the charger instead of the charger forcing 60w into the device. The power draw will still be 30w but the charger has the capability to charge more power demanding devices too.

    • +2

The device negotiates the voltage it needs. 65W is just the maximum output based on 20v 3.25A.

  • +1

any recommendation for a good usb-c cable that works with this?

    • The U Green one off Amazon if you don't need Usb3 Speed.

    • +1

      Anker, Baseus, Apple. Anything reputable.

I'm using Baseus cables for a few years without issue.

  • Grabbed one, Cheers OP!

  • anyone knows if this is Aus plug only? or interchangeable?

Can't seem to see in description

    • +1

      Aus plug only.

Belkin 108w GAN is down to an all time low of $69 on Amazon too: Deal of the day: Belkin BoostCharge Pro 4-Port GaN Charger 108W, White (WCH010auWH) https://amzn.asia/d/4RCa588

    • is it possible to change the cord to a different one if travelling since it's remvoable?

      • +1

Should be. As long as the cable matches the spec, it should be interchangeable.

  • wondering what kind of cable is suitable for charging my XPS 13 if I decide to buy this?

    • wondering what kind of cable is suitable for charging my XPS 13 if I decide to buy this?

USB-PD supports up to 100W so should do the job. I have one between my USB-C monitor and XPS13 which means one cable connectivity for everything. Docking stations are so 2018 😁

    • +2

      45 or 60w charger included?

If that's the case, any USB-C cable from a reputable brand will work.

  • +3

    thx OP.
Not sure whether I need it. But I just bought it.

    • Me too.

  • Is anyone able to confirm the weight?

  • +1

Is there any charger that can do 45w for samsung tab s8?

    • +1

This should be able to do 45W for your Samsung Tab S8 and it supports PPS.

EDIT: Quick Google suggest that it doesn't provide 45W to Samsung Devices even though it's PPS.

      • Thank you! I am still on my way to find a charger that supports 45w for my tab s8

  • Does this charge Pixel? Laptops? Surface or Yoga 7?

    Probably does..

  • How does it compare with the Zyron PowerPod 65W GaN charger, which is only $38.99 delivered? Looks like it comes with a 100W USB-C cable too.

    • Much better. Anker is an established brand with a proven track record. Zyron rebrand chargers which are available under multiple brands.

You'd be looking at approximately a $15 difference between the two once a cable is factored in.

  • Tempting but I shall rather wait for 150W to be lunched in Australia.

Anker eBay marked the item as posted (email with tracking number provided) 1 minute after the order was confirmed by eBay.

    • I think I got a fake tracking number with my last purchase from Anker. It arrived to my place in outer Melbourne in 4 days.

      • +2

If it arrives tomorrow, then I will know if my tracking number was genuine or not.

It arrived to my place in outer Melbourne in 4 days.

So, your shipment was just delayed.

        • You're probably right. It actually didn't show up as "delivered" on the tracking for several days, even though it had been delivered. But now all the information is accurate when I check the tracking number.

    • +1

Mine was expected to arrive today; tracking with AusPost hasn't changes since yesterday

      • Same thing happened.
        eBay Plus != Amazon Prime

  • Mine arrived, ordered the anker one on 28/11 via ebay plus, delivered 30/11 - Sydney suburbs

  • +1

    Received mine.
Plugged it in and had an unpleasant electrical smell.
None of the 3 outlets worked.
Annoyingly I have to go through the return process to get my money back and not a functional one.
    Not impressed.

  • Mine broke and tripped the circuit breaker after 1 week. Hopefully I just got a lemon and it's not a reflection of the quality of these chargers since the one I bought a month or so back is still working.

    • Interesting - mine has died too! I wonder if it's just a bad batch?

Just sent Anker a message, have the responded to you?

      • Mind did as well but they sent a new one

        • Ok cool, cheers - hopefully the bad ones were just really faulty, and the new ones dont die prematurely!

The fact that ours all died within weeks gives me hope that it was just a faulty batch or something.

      • +1

They sent me a replacement which arrived in Mid December. So far it's been going without any issues for a month now so fingers crossed it stays that way.

        • lmao mine just broke

          • @askbargain: It's really disappointing (and surprising given Anker's reputation) that so many of us have gotten faulty units - clearly there is an issue!

This is the first I've noticed of an Anker product having so many (or any at all) being faulty.

Fingers crossed it's just a faulty batch!

  • Does anyone know if this is actually a PPS charger, the printed manual in the box doesnt mention any PPS at all while the online version does. The box and charger model is marked as A2667.

here is a link to the online manual PDF from anker support

    https://ankertechnologycompanyltd.my.salesforce.com/sfc/p/#5…

In the printed manual that came with the charger, the section where it details the specifications "use one port, etc" only says specific voltages and no PPS.

    • +1

I just plugged in my S20 Ultra, and it says Super Fast Charging (without the 2.0).

My understanding is that SFC 2.0 is 45W PPS, and SFC is 25W PPS.

So yes, I would say this supports PPS, but it doesnt do 5A, so doesnt support Samsung's SFC 2.0 for 45W PPS.

Fwiw, the "time to full" was about 3min difference when I plugged it into my 45W Samsung charger (phone at about 60% battery). So in the scheme of things, the lack of SFC2.0 is probably not the end of the world. lol (It DOES make a difference if your battery is flat and you have 5-10min to give it some juice - SFC 2.0 will give you more battery quicker. But if leaving your phone to charge fully, the difference in total charging time is pretty minimal, as confirmed by many articles/testing.)
