      • It is clearly stated that you get charged on joining but billing starts on connection day.

        • Yep, absolutely, just letting other folks know, in case they missed it. It's a great deal.

          • @HappyPants: how much further in advance you can setup the connection date?

            • +2

@s0805: ok. Just checked it appears up to 2 months in advance. That's good.

Thanks OP, connected in 5 minutes of purchase

Has anyone signed up with Australia Post NBN living in Melbourne?

I'm on HFC currently with Superloop 100/20 and want to switch over, I was previously going to take up the Spintel offer but was dettered after reading others feedback.

    • Hello Everyone,
I am in the same boat as @shockme79 but on a FTTP connection in melbourne. Any feedback for Melbourne guys?

    • +1

Am in Melb on HFC and have been on Auspost 25/10 for a week now. It's going perfectly well. Getting max speeds when using speedtest. No issues streaming full HD 1080p content.

      • Thanks bk1973

      • Thanks for the feedback, was tossing between 25/10 and 50/20 (HFC, Melb also) but I think I'll just go with 25/10. My 6 month honeymoon with Superloop is finishing up next month so this is perfect!

  • Superloop was $79.95 a month, for 6 months then retention team gave me the deal again, it ended and they want 100/40 $99.95 a month - no thanks….trying my luck with AusPost $70.20 a month; given AusPost cant even deliver a parcel on time I have my concerns :D but can't resist

    • +1

It's "B2B Wholesale", and the tech support actually do the support for all their rebranded customers - we got a support text saying they were going to call regarding Sumo Internet, then the correct text shortly after that it was actually Australia Post.

I think all those retailers just slap their brand on it, then offload all the work to the wholesaler.

  • Any changed from Spintel to this deal? I'm in Brisbane and my upload speeds with Spintel are terrible so looking to change.

    • I did after a shocking 24 hours with Spintel. It's been flawless week and consistently get full speeds on 100/40 (103/37) in Sydney.

  • My transfer this morning went through quite quickly. It seems stable at about the same speeds I had with mate.

  • +1

I have just transferred from Superloop. Took a matter of minutes - very smooth thus far. Will see what the performance is like over the coming week.

  • +5

My 6 months with SuperLoop was a few days away. Called them up and they offered me a $5 to stay which didn't seem like enough. Submitted the application for AusPost NBN and within 2 minutes the old service went down, AusPost sent me a welcome text message, and SuperLoop sent me a goodbye message. 5 minutes later the new service came up and so far so good :)

Because the Internet was unavailable for a few minutes my kids also left their rooms and came downstairs to say hi. Win-win.

    • Well, I didn't do enough research and didn't know you couldn't opt out of their CGNAT config. I'm the middle of churning again after just 3 days.

      • Same, I need to get cgnat out. Did Australia Post charge you pro rata or did you pay for the whole month?

  • Slightly off topic, but at what point does an ISP consider you as a "new" customer…

For example, if I churned from Superloop today would I be able to join again after 6 months as a "new" customer? Or do I need to wait 12+ months?

    • +3

With any ISP, you can sign up as a new customer till the time you are using a new e.ail address. I did it with Superloop, after 1month.

      • Oh that's great to know, for some reason I thought it went my physical address.. Cheers

  • Any other WA-ians that signed up, how is the connection so far? Thinking of churning from Exetel, getting weird drop outs recently.

  • +1

Just signed up and was connected in 10 mins - Speeds are great so far but will see how things go during peak period. Went from ABB 100/20 to 50/20 which should save me nearly $60 a month. Thanks OP.

  • I forgot to add the discount code during checkout and now trying to add it they're asking for a Workforce ID of an AusPost employee and refusing to apply it otherwise. Could anyone please PM me one if someone works for Aus Post? Thanks!

    • I'm not sure if I can state the intention is for this offer to be a family and friends offer.

It seems to imply that it is a team member discount and it avails itself to family and friends of that member. Albeit, it does not explicitly state the team member must be living with you, but I think that is implied to some extent because it states in the above alternative signup process "Provide your APS/WFID number"….

I did a google search on the requirement and it previously existed to some extent in a clause, but it is unclear where that clause is now hidden. https://imgur.com/a/HDeDhoi

Alternatively that might only apply to mobile sims? Who knows?

  • I signed up this morning 100/20, whole process was very straightforward - the changeover was done less than 5 minutes, and I also received an account cancellation sms from my previous ISP (Superloop). So far so good!

    • Did you need to contact Superloop or Aus post organised it on your behalf? Cheers

      • No I didn't need to contact Superloop, within a few minutes after submitting my Aus Post application I received an sms from Superloop advising that my NBN service has been transferred to another provider and asking me to reply with 'Yes' to close my account, after replying I received a follow up sms advising that my account has now been closed.

However, I did call them as well just for peace of mind as my billing anniversary date was coming up on the 22nd and didn't want to leave anything to chance.

        • Legend thanks mate. I may have to jump ship. Superloop speeds have been awful the last couple months.

  • Does AusPost NBN need 30 days cancellation notice?

    • +5

I didn't get a good reply either, they just ask me if I am a customer. lol. Their online chat is hopeless..

  • WARNING: Dealing with their customer service has been VERY painful. I'm just trying to churn and they are asking me to disconnect my old service first. Never had an issue churning from one to another but unfortunately it's one of the the types of offshore customers service depts where they have no clue what you're asking them…

    • +1

as far as I know, you do not need them for churning. I just do it online. See all comment above, mostly done under 5mins.

  • Just signed up. Activated in minutes.

  • I arranged for my auspost nbn to be activated today, got a text from auspost saying that it's now active and ready to go.
However, it seems I'm still connected to my previous provider (superloop, plan ending on the 28th).
Anyone have any advice on how to get it connected to auspost?

    • try to restart your modem or cancel your superloop within your account (just in case its not cancel automatically). Or change your login with Auspost one.

      • Thanks will try. Do you know the details for the auspost login?

        • you need to contact them to get it..just use the chat feature or ask for call back. They call me back last time.

    • +1

What type is your connection? FTTP? Then they probably provisioned on anoyport. Check the email and move the connection to the other port. Usually port 1 or 2 are used.

      • Yes, this was it! Thanks for your help

  • have been connected for 5 days in Geelong area constant dropouts. I thought my modem may be on the way out got a new and still same issues so will be changing provider asap. Anyone else had this experience?

  • Got connected in 5 minutes, no dropouts or anything. FTTP, near Liverpool area. 97-105 mbps and 18.5 - 19 mbps upload.

    • Same result. It's much better than my previous provider More telecom. Was never able to reach these speeds kept complaining them continuously but they never able to fix.

  • I was paying 65$ for 50/20 on optus (speed test shows 47/17). Switched to 100/20 just now. The switch took 5 mins after filling in details online. Speed test showing 80/18 which I'm happy with. THANKS

  • +1

I have been connected for over 1 week (100/20) and no issues at all with consistently good speed test results.. If anything, I have actually noticed an improvement in my Foxtel IQ5 service… As it all runs through internet, previously I would get scrambled picture randomly, drop out in transmission..etc I just put it down to a $hitty product however none of these issues have been evident since switching ISP??

FWIW, I used to be with Superloop (100/20).

I thought of giving an update about my order. I moved from Exetel who needed a month notice, hence I placed the Australia post nbn to be activated today and Exetel was cancelled yesterday. This morning I changed settings in my Tenda modem but no luck. I called support and there was no waiting time. They said that it would be activated within 4 days …. Anyhow I went to the gym and upon returning the service is now working! What a relief as I was a bit worried. Speed is good with 104/18 and ping is 20 ms
It says b2b wholesale here in Sydney.

  • Hi all, need some help understanding if our scenario could work. currently with exetel for our broadband, we are going away for 2 months, notice given to exetel to cancel the service on the day we are leaving. plan is to have future date connection set-up with Auspost when we return after 2 months. This way we don't want to pay for 2 months on broadband service we won't be using.

for record NBN line will be active at the property its just that we will not have any retailer providing NBN service. talked to Auspost and they said for them to provide us the NBN after 2 months return they will need our service to be active with another retailer for them to transfer. does that sound right….are there any other ways to avoid paying 2 months of service in this scenario. Cheers

    • Why not just sign up with Launtel free trial just before the transfer?

      • they only have 7 day trial period…https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/716868. Am I missing something?

        • I mean, cancel exetel, then you go on your holiday, schedule Launtel one day before you come back/want to start Auspost then it ll be fine?

When Telstra mistakenly cancelled my nbn service so I had none, Launtel connected me online in 5 minutes.

          • @MeesusEff: Hm…that would be the same challenge i will have with Auspost. how will launtel connect me up if i don't have any existing retailer connected for NBN

            • @s0805: I had no service and Launtel connected me in 5 minutes after I signed up.

              • @MeesusEff: Ok. Got it. so i can sign-up for them a day when i come back from holidays and churn to aus post with the pre-arranged date after the trial. Cheers

    • Think you probably gave them your story above and they ended confused. They can activate a new service without it needing to be transferred. I did this myself after canceling Spintel via a complaint. My NBN connection was disconnected for a few hours and then I placed my order with AP and it went straight through.

Not sure if they can post date the connection by 2 months though for the promo.

      • thanks. Auspost online sign up process allows me to book that far ahead in advance so no issue there. i think, i may have to call their activation team….i m thinking i got the wrong info. your NBN was disconnected for few hrs mine will be 2 months…

        • +1

It doesn't matter if it's disconnected for days or months. The service is in-place. NBN don't go pulling cables.

          • @Chuppa: thanks. that is my understanding was well. I think either i confused auspost or they confused me. The underlying NBN service is always there to connect to. May be they can't transfer the service but can always connect me up on my return.

    • the best way is to activate/churn on the cheapest plan and upgrade later or churn later after come back from holiday. Or just disconnect your services and reconnect later as most NBN provider dont charge activation fees (the bad side is you have no internet for few days).

  • +1

Churned from Exetel 50/20 to this Auspost 50/20, scheduled for the 28/12..

Changeover was seamless, aside from fudging my way thru modem settings as i didn't get the setup email from Auspost until around 12hrs after connection became active.

Speedtest's have been constantly around 52/18 (Sydney). Even just now @~8pm i'm getting ~45/18.

No complaints cheapest NBN i've had thus far..

  • I will be moving in a few days after 9 Jan. I wonder if they will still give me the deal or maybe I should go woth the tangrrine one. Just need 50/20 though

    • +3

if you know the approx date, you can select the future connection date as per the sign-up process. your future date can be after 9th jan.

      • Cheers. Glad to know. First time doing this, do they just need the address to see if my apt is suitable for auspost nbn?

Sorry ignore this, I just checked and it's unavailable

  • I'm moving houses in a week and have signed up for the 50/20 plan to be activated on date of moving. Payment has been taken. How do I go about connecting this service (FTTP) with my own modem? Should it just be plug-and-play, or do I need to request specific modem/login details from AusPost?

    • "You’ll need to configure your modem using DHCP, IPoE or Dynamic IP, and should be able to select one of these options under quick setup or setup wizard."

Otherwise, pretty plug and play. The email will say which UNI-D port to use too.

      • Cheers! When do we get this email explaining the process?

        • My email was titled "Your Broadband service is now active", so… for you, probably on the day of activation haha.

  • +1

    Cheers OP!

Btw for those who selected a future connection date, on the welcome email they send you did that show the date. Mine mentions nothing about the selected connection date. Weird.

    • +1

Yeah mine didn't either. They didn't connect you immediately, right?

      • Yeah haven't been connected yet but on the welcome email it does state should be connected within 4 days? So I'm thinking best to ring them up on Monday to confirm. Anyways cheers for the reply bud! 🍻

        • +1

same as mine. it didn't show future date in welcome email but i called them to confirm. It turned out for some reason they had date in may while i selected March. they solved it on the phone though.

          • @s0805: Cheers buddy March to May good thing you rang up then haha. Not sure why they don't state the connection date but yeah going to ring them up tomorrow to confirm.

          • +1

@s0805: Haha you wouldn't have been able to pick a date in May when signing up as the furthest was about 2 months out from memory?

Mine doesn't show future date in welcome e-mail either… might call them up tomorrow to re-confirm.

  • +2

I just setup mine today, upgrade from superloop 50/20 to AusPost 100/20.
Before and after speedtest was 4.4 Mbps to 77 Mbps
Guess I wasn't getting anywhere near that alleged typical evening speed before.
And 91Mbps on PS5, happy camper

    • +1

Yes, I’m having a fantastic experience so far. I wish it would be $63.45 forever to keep the same service. However, I’ll move in 6 months again probably Tangerine or SL to maximise savings and hopefully I can then go back To Australia Post after that (if good offer will be on again).

  • +3

Think the deal may be over. Just tried signing up and there was no discount without the code. Code adds a 10% discount.

    • Yeah checked it yesterday but didn't have the time to go through the whole sign up. Just tried it tonight and now it's not got the 25% off :/

Bit annoying that AusPost didn't list the end date for the 25% off, if they had would have found the time to finish the sign up yesterday.

      • +2

its on the flyer since its a family and friends promo.
