Any plans for a 3070 Ti or 3080 model deal for black friday?

    • +2

…+1 - There's a big gap between this and the $2700+ 4080 deals from Luke at present, isn't there

  • Pcpartpicker? Also does the motherboard have Wi-Fi?

  • if anyone is gaming at 1080p 144hz+, don't get this, r5500 is a gimped cpu. no good for high fps 1080p gaming.

    • -3

At most there would only be a difference of about 20 fps or so, because in games you're 95% of the time you're gpu limited not cpu limited.

      • +12

At 1080p you might hit the CPU bottleneck before that of the 3060 Ti depending on the game.
Would have been nice to have a 5600 upgrade option

        • True but majority of games need more GPU rather than CPU, still a lot of cpu games but a majority are GPU based. I still agreed that you would get an FPS hit.

          • +3

@LuslecGrace: High resolution => GPU Bottleneck
High frame rate => CPU Bottleneck
            Usually…

    • I think it depends. if you're upgrading from a very old CPU and GPU, then this will still improve alot on 1080p 144hz+

And also depending on the game. If you play CS:Go then it doesnt matter.

    • CPU matches the GPU though, so not an issue for the price, really IMO.

  • -7

not that good, and it is just doing a clearance on the about to be out-dated hardware.
for those who are not in a hurry to buy a new gaming desktop, can wait for mid-ranged 13th gen i5 and 4060 to be released in the coming month

    • +16

You're missing the point, this is for budget oriented people, not someone that can buy 13th gen and an RTX 4000.

    • +4

mid-ranged 13th gen i5 and 4060 to be released in the coming month

Where did you hear that? I thought the 4060 was still six months away?

      • sorry, it was a typo. i was intended to say coming months, it should be some time in Q1 2023

  • +2

Can I upgrade to 5600 instead of 5500?

    • +8

Why do I get the feeling 5500 is what you get when your mum says "We have 5600 at home"

      • +4

5600G would fit the shoe better, but this works too.

  • +2

That's a great bit of kit for the price. Just think how much this would have been not that long ago

  • +1

    Hallelujah

  • Is the Ryzen 5 5500 a bottleneck on the 3060TI?

    • +2

depends on your frame rate and resolution, and game. I'd say you would be silly not to drop an extra $50 and get a 5600, since it's about as good as upgrading to a 3070 in this same config.

      • +1

Sounds good, yeah I was just concerned as I didn't see an upgrade option.

@luketechfast are we able to get the 5600 as an upgrade option?

        • -4

Unfortunately, the 5600 is not available as an upgrade option for this listing.

          • +6

@luketechfast: Or deduct option to remove so we can add it separately?

            • -2

@MrFrugalSpend: Buy your 5600 from your favourite retailer, replace drive, sell brand new 5500 CPU on eMazon or MartketMeta, SnapGram or whatever the kids do these days..

              • +3

@ozchappy: not worth my effort… it's not exactly a sought after CPU (hence the numerous comments on here from people wanting to upgrade to 5600) … i'd rather not buy it in the first place if that could be made an option (even if the deduction isn't what I expect to pay for a 5500 … if for some reason I wanted one)

                • +1

@MrFrugalSpend: No probs mate. Just offering an option.

                  • +1

@ozchappy: the thought did cross my mind… but I never really sell anything,
(just a mass consumer and hoarder so it'd probably end up in my spares pile)

  • +1

I needed my PC for work asap, if you're in the same boat, consider there might be a wait… the competitive pricing is offset by the wait for me.

All PCs are built to order, and the current timeframe for receiving and processing orders, build, testing and dispatch is approximately 14 business days, but may extend past this in busy periods, order for RTX 3000 series cards where the card's arrival date is estimated in a specific month, or because of circumstances beyond our control in the current coronavirus-affected environment of supply uncertainty. Of course, we will do our best to finalise your order as soon as possible.

  • @luketechfast is there an option to upgrade to 5600 CPU?

    • Nope . Mentioned above.

  • +2

Just bought this unit - Will probably upgrade the CPU but this is the second time purchased from Techfast, have found them to be incredible in customer service as they are very responsive to emails.

    Looking forward to it.

    • Do you know if a Ryzen 7 5700X would fit/work with this system?

  • If I order a PC, will you be able to tell me what the graphics card model is? eg NVIDIA gigabyte or zotac etc.

  • Expired? Code doesn't work

    • +1

      Working for me

  • +2

How would this be for FS2020? Better performance than the Xbox Series X?

  • How do we know which games will work fine and which one will struggle?

    • They will all work fine.

What resolution and framerates do you want?

      • Good question. Sorry actually I am not a gaming person. My son plays mainly Minecraft at the moment. Just want to future proof for car racing, and some other games. Nothing too demanding.

So tough deciding if pc at thic price point should do or need to go to $1500 range.

        • +1

That's easy, you absolutely don't need to spend more.

Even the most demanding games play beautifully on this, just not necessarily at 4k resolution and 120FPS and Ultra settings (1 or 2 of those 3 won't be a problem, though).

  • +1

Does anyone know if this motherboard has comparability for a wifi card

  • +1

How much does it cost without the GPU?

  • Did techfast ever do 3090 builds? Wondering what the chances of them doing a 4090 build will be.

  • Hey what type of games can this support ?

    • +2

Any PC game will play beautifully.

More expensive/powerful components are purely for higher resolutions and framerates.

  • +1

How long do these deals usually last? Is it subject to availability, just for November, or for a set timeframe?
Also, is it possible to get the boxes for some components?

  • +5

@techfast Can you do this deal again tomorrow for Black Friday special?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/690364

  • Is this ok for MS Flight simulator at basic experience for 12 yr old?

  • This any good for video editing?

  • Hi. I want to buy a gaming PC for my son. Budget $2k-$3k. Any recommendations?

    • Either of techfast's other deals.

But does that 2-3k include peripherals?

  • Thanks Guys — Does anyone know if TechFast will do a 4090 Build??

  • How can you buy a pre assembled one cheaper than building or yourself. Im looking at building my own but with most deals by the time i buy similar parts it ends up costing more for less.

We need to design a build with performance but value in mind and get them to bulk produce it.

    • +2

      Economies of scale

  • Would it be compatible/easy to switch the CPU for Ryzen 7 5700X, with the MBO upgrade to B550M (MTAX) and leaving the 16gb Ram 3200MHz if I were to buy the 5700X separately?
    Thanks for help

  • +3

    Still waiting on a 3070/80 build…

  • Hi all, I’m new to gaming PCs - any suggested upgrades from the website? Also, what is the cheapest place to get windows 11 activation keys (or suggest going through Techfast as well)?

    Thanks in advance!

  • how come it goes to 1248 when i go to buy

    • +2

Did you apply the code in the OP?

  • +1

Wondering if there will be similar deal from bpctech

  • +1

@luketechfast i think some 3060 ti gpu's don't have 3x display ports on them, i have a requirement for that. Is there any way i can make a note during the order process? Doesn't appear to be any way to make a comment on an order so far as i can tell?

  • Expired already?

  • +1

@luketechfast any chance we can still buy this today?

  • looks like it'll be an underwhelming black friday this year ..

  • +1

    Code still works!

  • Anyone got it? still waiting for delivery..

    • Today I got a notification from Techfast !!!
