      I made a live edge desk, so cannot clamp onto it without unsightly bracket mods.

    It does not. Only clamp in the box BUT its a very large clamp so works well on non-standard desks.

      I checked the specs and it opens up to 60mm and my desk is 65. I might notch a slot in thr side where there is no live edge.
