  • I would so want this if I can get rid of my L2 only 5 months old.

    • +1

The L2 is much better, sounds cleaner and richer, the x2hr sound muddy

      • really? I thought X2HR is the better one that's more often compared to other brand's models. The 50mm driver perhaps sounds warmer than 40mm as a whole.

Thanks for your input. Gonna try and resist spending more 💰

        • Go ahead and buy them, it’s from Amazon so no worries with the return, compare them and you’ll be blown away of how good the L2 sound compared to the x2hr, I had the x2hr for about 6 months and always wanted to try the L2 so I pulled the trigger and man do they sound fantastic! As I said before they’re cleaner, crispier and richer, the build quality is great and they look amazing as well, they even come with an extra cable with built in mic and all that for $129.
Absolute steal, I bought a second pair just in case.

          • @Emilimu: Thanks for that idea.

Don't mean to brag…but I studied industrial Design with the fella that designed this generation of Philips headphones including L2. So I have an attachment to it.

  • I'm really enjoying my pair from the last deal. Shame that the 00 model doesn't have removable ear pads, but not needing to worry about a separate amp to power this makes up for it.

It definitely has removable earpads. I bought the same model and they just pop right off.

      • Wow… I read once that it wasn't removable and I never ended up trying it myself… Just tried it now and it works, thank you!

        • +2

Older version didnt have removable pads (you probably read review/comments on the X1).

Excellent headphones. Got them when they were on sale the last time around. Use them everyday for gaming and music. Would highly recommend if you're looking for open-back headphones.

  • been using these headphones for 2 years and they are excellent. highly reccommend.

    • Love mine too but they are starting to deteriorate after 2 years.

The ear pads split recently. The replacements I found look, feel and sound identical to the originals but they have also split after ~3 months.

The coating on the headband also started flaking, but it was fine after spending a couple of hours scraping most of it off.

      • not sure what you're talking about? the pads and headband are cloth and dont flake

        • Just my experience with them, I use them heavily though.
