I would always go dual boiler but I have a large kitchen and don't particularly worry about power bills.
HX machines definitely have their place as they are generally more compact, consume significantly less electricity and require less maintenance than an equivalent dual boiler machine.

This machine has some nice little features but I'm not convinced they will age well.
