    Compareble to qk65….yeah….okay….

    • +2

okay went too far. I've revised it :D

    • i have a qk65 and a mod003, it really is comparable, i prefer the akko

      • What build and which foams did you use with the Qk?

        • i used everything that was included in the qk65 kit + alu plate + akko switches (silver lubed) & keycaps
for the mod003 i didnt touch the insides just added the switches (white lubed) & keycaps

they feel very similar! but i prefer the mod003, gave the qk65 to my partner

          • +3

@yentruoc: Don't use everything with the QK65. Take out the PE foam from the QK65. When you use PE foam every board cheap and expensive sounds the same. Also remove the thick silicon from the case and just keep the case foam. Remove the stand-offs if you installed them too. Get some better switches too.

            • @Sammyboy: i maybe try that in the future, honestly i did plan to experientment with different things but then it came and i spent the whole day lubing switches and cutting up my fingers because the akko switches dont open easily, it was late and i just wanted to get the keyboard all together and done before bed so I stuffed everything inside and called it a day, that night I made a promise to myself never to lube another switch … slave labour !!

              • +2

@yentruoc: There's plenty of pre lubed switches coming out now. Oil kings won't break the bank and seem to work well the qk65. Shouldn't take more than 20mins to take it apart, pull out the pe, silicon and standoffs. I'd even tape up the flex cuts on the PCB. Keep using the Akkos for now. You will still hear and feel a world of difference!

  • Are any of AKKO's boards QMK compatible?

    • No, they are not QMK or VIA compaitable but their akko cloud is like equivalent and the macros are saved in the keyboard.

      • +1

Damn, not too bad for people just getting into the hobby then. Once you go QMK you never go back.

I'll have to have a look at comparisons of Keychron Q series vs AKKO boards. Q series is amazing value (when on sale, especially) IMO, considering you get an aluminium hotswap board that's QMK compatible.

  • Was interested a while ago in the 5108S for a full size one with linear switches after hearing good things about Akko and likign some Razer linear switches I tried on a mini keyboard @ JBHIFI.

Looks like they have a couple the Akko JK Girl RGB Mechanical Keyboard 5108S CS Sakura for $109 & the Akko World Tour London RGB Hot-Swap Keyboard 5108S TTC Silver for $129. But only the second is hot swappable.

I suspect the Akko website will probably have a deal for Black Friday as well.

Would you recommend the 5108S for a newbie to mechanical keyboards? And if so are there some good all around linear switches to pick?

    • Not sure if Akko website would do BF sales but my experience is they don't offer free shipping to AUS for sure. Your best luck is wait for BF sale for Akko on Amazon AU or Epomaker (but they charge USD).

You can check out the review here:

This dude is a bit biased to Akko but after owning an Akko keyboard i do agree it's great value and way better quality than keychron unless the pro series.

    • Akko shipping is free if spend over $199 (USD). I just checked and 1 keyboard is $3.99 (USD). Thats gone cheaper! Last time I ordered a keyboard from Akko was $4.99 lol. Also if something is out of stock you can try their euro website https://akkogear.de. They have different stock counts but pricing different due to currency and shipping was 12.99eur for a keyboard.
They did 11.11 sale. So maybe they will do BF sale.
Keyboards are decent for price. Personally prefer them to keychron (older non gasket, haven't tried the new ones but they are more expensive too). Stabilisers that come with the boards are crap.
Tried Akko matcha switches when they were on sale on Amazon. There was a lot of hype and reviewers were generally quite kind for some reason. Personally I think they had a really unsatisfying feel and so did my friend. Also the switch case is a bit different, a fraction smaller (maybe just short of 1mm? Edit … Just measured Gateron Oil King is 14.49mm vs Akko Match 13.48mm) than standard switch case which I think affects the sound and feel too. Lavender case molding looks same as matcha

Got a couple of qk65 and they are a league above Akko, but double the price. However Akko is a good starting point. Better than the common gamer brands I think.

Annnnd bought a wireless one for 89 delivered. Couldn't help myself.

  • +2

I love my lavender switches! I swapped out my browns on my Keychron V1 to them and super happy.

  • I have been looking at the Akko boards lately but I want a wireless alternative so I can switch to bluetooth and connect to my work laptop when I am at home. It doesn't look like any of these offer a wireless option.

Akko 3068B Plus seems to fit the bill, I need the extra keys. It looks like Aliexpress is the place for that one though (in black/pink with jelly pink switches).

  • ooooo i already have a Ducky One 2 mini kalin browns, are those gasket mount keeb really worth the upgrade?

    • +1

      Yes

    • big yes

  • No discount on akko clear keycaps unfortunately…

  • Would anyone happen to know if I was to buy the World Tour Hot-Swap full-sized keyboard, would all of the Akko Jelly switches be compatible? Eg https://en.akkogear.com/product/akko-cs-jelly-blue-switch-45…

    • +2

Yes these switches work for almost any hotswap boards.

  • +1

I have the ACR keyboard, and it is absolute garbage. don't buy. it says its "gasket mount", but it is the stiffest gasket mount ever made. no room for travel at the bottom of the case. this is basically a tray mount.
you will get zero movement from this garbage. i was expecting a budget gasket mount keyboard and expect some movement. this has absolutely no movement., it is like typing on concrete.

  • Loved my Akko Antique White switches… while they worked. After about 9 months 9 of my 87 installed switches started to intermittently register keypresses. PCCG was good for replacing them as they were under warrenty, but I switches to Gateron's now so I hopefully I don't have to worry about switches dying for a while. Could have just been a bad batch though YMMV

  • Hi…can anybody tell me which ones are wireless? The only one I could see was that Year of the Tiger one.

    That Monet keyboard is beautiful
