Back down to $453 for the first time in months.
If you're needing more explanations on the player, there's some good responses in one of my last posts on this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/672015

No difference
If no compression no difference.
Plex on what? Some devices won't correctly pass HDR metadata leading to incorrect presentation of HDR content.
Also this player can do some pretty nice tonemapping.
There's supposed to be hdr image processing which is supposed to make an improvement. How much? Can't say as I have no first hand experience, but it's a feature which is has come up a lot during recent research due to looking to purchase one. Just look up some reviews if you want more details.
The players are so expensive! Would be better to just buy a console to play 4k
$450 is expensive for this technology?
It has way better processing than the consoles. Unless you desperately need SACD playback, or had more coin for their definitely expensive but drool-worthy UB9000 reference player, this one is about as good as it gets for 4k disc playback. Short of stumbling across a second hand Oppo that doesn't have a kidney-level pricetag.
If you are going to spend $1000's on a big screen OLED then this is the player to get to maximise what the OLED can produce. Also has Hi Res, 7.1 sound.
Anyone know if any good 4k blu-ray sales this black Friday to pair with this?
There is a 4K ultra sale on JBHIFI right now.
I picked up Dune 4k for $25 from JBs as a tester for this player. One of very few movies available in 4k that I would bother to watch again.
I got 2 dune as well for 28$ will gift one for Christmas
Got a couple of John wick, inception, interstellar, and tenet. Was looking to get ghost in shell mostly for the sound
If you don't need Dolby Vision, this is under $200

I’d go the UB420 if you need a cheaper option…
Is there even any 4k discs that use hdr10+. I think it's only hdr10 and dolby vision.
$424.15 on eBay from The Good Guys with code XZIP15 and check out with Zip
Called The Good Guys who price matched down to $440, C&C in store, i'm happy
Which shop did you call up? I tried my local store and they were only willing to match down to $453
I just called the 1300 sales number rather than the store direct. They said they would match JB's and I asked if they could do any better and got $440.. Might have just got lucky though
Probably a fairly ignorant question, if I have ripped a BluRay and play it via plex (hosted on an onprem server) using direct play is there any perceivable quality difference to playing the disk directly on a unit like this?
