Are these cross-multiplayable with the previous Amazon Prime game claim (all via Origin?)
Will it actually work with VR though?
Google says that SW: Squadrons uses Steam VR so I'm not sure if getting it from the EPIC Games store will still allow you to use it in VR as well?
I honestly have no idea, I literally got a Quest 2 a couple of days ago, and I'm a huge SW fan (and I already have a flight stick) so I'd love to be able to get the full experience if possible, I just don't know if it would work or not?
I guess it's free though, so beggars/choosers etc. :o)
EDIT: did some digging and it turns out that the EPIC launcher version DOES still work with VR, so panic over.
Apparently it is, but I have been unable to get it to work with my Quest 2 that arrived today.
To be fair, I barely know how to operate the thing so it's probably more my ignorance
@Domingo: Takes a little bit of fiddling to get the Quest to work with PCVR games, yeah
Need to have the Oculus app installed, then paired to your headset. Once that's done you still need the SteamVR app installed and running to interface with games.
THEN, if you don't have all your VR games in Steam, you need to learn the process of opening your desktop and running the game manually (I've got my external games all as desktop shortcuts which reduces the time to get to them after opening Air Link from the headset). This is different if it's a Steam game with a SteamVR shortcut.
Even then, it's not always seamless - some games wouldn't cooperate for some reason but work fine the next day, so YMMV
@Switchblade88: Thanks for the advice - I'm up to THEN but have good direction so will give it a crack!
This is on Epic, which doesn't help…
ah good, I have it in 2 launchers already, time to add it to a third
never put all eggs in one basket ya know
Most of the games I have in Steam still have their own launchers that are launched by the Steam launcher anyway.
At one point I had to use a 3rd party launcher just to play XCOM2 via Steam because the official one got borked by a steam update.
@dealbot how do you find out so soon what free game is coming up?
it's listed on the epic store a week ahead of time
It is posted before it is listed on epic store. Thats why that question is asked.
Squadrons in VR with a joystick is next level. Has to be experienced
Do you know what the minimum requirements are for VR? I just cos a vive cosmos and it says I need a gtx 980 minimum, but does that depend on the game too?
This game is very resource hungry. 980 will struggle I think
Mate what's the best value budget joystick to get for a PC for just literally this game?
if you've got Prime this is a pretty decent joystick for a good price delivered

Thanks ordered!
Groovy
I don't see RPG in a Box. Will it be added later?
It is set to go live on the 24/11.
Where are the Black Friday deals???
Thanks for that, price is exactly how much I'm willing to give for a EA title.
how does the single player compare to Descent Freespace?
100% different. This is very similar to classic xwing / tie fighter series. Descent freespace i reckon is more like wing commander series.
The SP campaign is pretty hit and miss, not as good the old x-wing story
Check out this review for more info
Stay on target.
i really wish epic gives out red dead redemption 2.. that'd be something
IntensifyForwardFirepower!
This is a very good one, it even come with VR that makes it another gaming experience.
