Hisense 65" OLED X8HAU $2495.00 (Was $3495) + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ The Good Guys

80

Can't find many reviews of this TV, but the Hisense website says it'll do 4K @ 120Hz
Seems like a decent price for 65" OLED, but is it worth it when LG C2 could be around $500 more?

Wait for C2 and A80K to be sub $3K

Hisense OLED only makes sense if priced like Metz

I cannot support Hisense's dodgy way of naming thier products.

    Same model numbers, different specifications.

Hisense had a bust up with Hardly Normal this time last year so the fact they are still sold in Uncle Gerry's stores shows they are committed to the Australian market

Once the local product managers stop ordering B tier stock for Australia, they will start competing again with TCL in the "Can't afford LG/Samsung/Sony" tier

Until that happens, they are Metz/Bauhn/FFalcon tier

Hisense is really shitty because of the naming scam. I wouldn't buy them and to be honest it's not that good even for the price anyway.

    • I’m looking at this thread and I’m so confused. Bro what? A 4K oled 120hz tv at another brand is MINIMUM $1000 more. I went to good guys today to have a look and was informed the oled panel for this tv was actually purchased from lg. This seems like a great deal, everyone commenting doesn’t actually have any experience with this tv, and it isn’t uncommon for newer hisense tvs to be released/tested in aus first. What are we all talking about, it seems like a great deal?

      • Should mention the x8hau I was looking at was 55 inch for $1600

Ok what did they forget to give us this time? Their insistence on giving us their shitty Vidaa OS rather than using Android like on their US models is still here as well I see, bet they never fixed the motion smoothing bug that my U8G has

    • Can't you return under warranty, if it's not working right should get a replacement

Seems like they haven’t launched this anywhere else in the world.
I wouldn’t commit to buying any of their products until there is at least some decent local Australian reviews. It really isn’t worth it just to save a few hundred bucks.

Edit: Looks like they have named the OLEDs A9H and A85H overseas. Seems to me like another round of dodgy inconsistent naming practice.

    • Great catch. I have been searching the past couple weeks for a proper review. This might open up the search area a bit.
The A9H looks exactly like the X9HAU and the A85H looks exactly like the X8HAU. Of course there could be differences.
