Out of curiosity, is wetsuit still allowed during summer triathlon in Australia especially in Melbourne? Never done on in Melbourne but curious on how cold it gets during tri season..
Melbourne triathlons are always wetsuit mandatory or wetsuit optional.

It depends on water temperature. If I remember correctly, you can wear a wetsuit if the water is under 24c

Went to 2xu owners house in Melbourne once. Place was unreal. Garage opens, then lowers car into a true man cave with bar/lounge with speaker setup, gym and a range of cars with car turntable.
