After messing around with jump leads thismorning I figured it's time to get myself a jump pack. This Gooloo GT3000 seems like a cracker and is currently ~$10 cheaper than previous deals. no code required.

GT4000s is also on sale, for $185.99, but GT3000 is already more than enough for my needs and similar $/mAh so I'll go for the 'cheap' option. .

  • Can this be used to charge a laptop via Thunderbolt?

    • +1

Yes. 100W usb c port. Just need tb cable

  • +2

Only goes up to 10 litre petrol engine.
    Not enough for my car.

  • Most people will be fine with the gt1500 which is on sale for $100. Depends on vehicle and usage of course. Flashlight and device charging is super useful in blackouts.

    • I started looking at the 1500 but plan on using it more as a power bank than a jump pack so opted for the for extra capacity and fast charging. Screen is nice too.

      • Super heavy though. Beware

  • I have this one and love it.

I have used it twice for jump starting cars and many times for charging phones and laptops. Also very handy for plugging in tyre inflators.

I also have a gooloo from a few years back and this is just 100s times better as far as size, functionality and apparent toughness goes.

  • Can anyone tell me if it's safe to leave these in the car permanently?

Does a hot car destroy the device?

Does a hot car impact the stored charge (thus leaving me with no jump start when I need it)?

I have this. Has saved us a few times when my toddler flicks the rear passenger light on.

It lives under the seat. No dramas at all.

      • Thank you

        • I'm in Brisbane btw. So pretty hot in summer. We always use a screen shield or garage.

    • I usually keep mine in a supermarket chiller bag inside the spare wheel in an effort to keep it from getting too hot. Don't have any data on how effective or necessary this is but it seems to give me peace of mind at least.

  • bought the gt4000s a month ago. just used it for the first time this morning. love it. the $160 price tag for the gt3000 and $180-190 for the gt4000s is pretty usual for these. at least since I bought it 1 or 2 months ago, this is the third time I see this price

  • Good to hear your happy with it, and that you’ve had a need for it. Im quietly hoping for another flat battery soon.

Yeah these prices are not unusual, but no previous ozb deals posted for the gt3000 this low that I could see.

  • I've got this one and it's a beast. Jump started my ute a couple of times and has been called into service on multiple occasions as a power brick for laptops and iPads. Well worth the money.

  • I got these when there was a sale for 2 at $264 and put them in the wheel well of all 4 cars. Also got the hard cases which fit everything well. Had to use one to start my sisters cx-30 which had a completely dead battery the other day.

  • Mine arrived yesterday and got straight to work thismorning to get me started. Worked like a charm and only dropped to 95% after the jump (2L diesel).

I tried it as a power bank too and it's great. Having the power reading for charge in and out is bloody good so IMO it's definitely worth stepping up from the cheaper units that just have basic LED's for capacity.

Much larger than I expected though and probably 3x the volume of a similar capacity power bank I have.
